A Fight to Finish

Chapter 5

It's 4th period now and that's P.E which means gym time. I'm so tired right and can't work out. I sit on the bleachers and play with my fingers. “Miss Dexter, aren't you supposed to be at the gym now” Principal Hathaway asks me. “Yes I am but I'm tired” I say grumpily, “well being tired is not an excuse, so run along to the gym now” he says and I stand up reluctantly and head to the gym. Few minutes to break, I head to the locker room and change. It's empty since the bell has not been rung yet, I change and come out. “Hey pretty face” I hear and turn to see Liam Smit. I ignore him and keep moving. “So what's up, you've been avoiding us these days or what” he says and I still don't answer. He comes to stand in front of me, blocking me from moving. ”Listen, I'm not in the mood” I say and move away from him.“Pretty face,I missed you” “back off Liam,I said I'm not in the mood” I say and walk out. The bell rings and I meet up with Alysa and we stroll to the cafeteria. “How’s you and Jordan anyways” I ask her “fine, he asked me out last weekend” “woah, and you never bothered to tell your girl” I gasp. “Sorry, I was too shy to mention it” “you're forgiven” I tell her. We enter the cafeteria and grab our food. We take our usual spot and start chatting. Then Alysa stops and gazes wide eyes to something behind me. “What” I ask her and turn to see the 5 boys heading towards our table. I turn my face and frown. “You're so popular, girl” she says with a grin “I wish” I snarl. I don't blame her though,the perks of being a fan girl. The five boys take their seats on our table. I can feel a lot of eyes on us right now. “Sup ladies” Liam winks and Alysa blushes. “What do you guys want” I ask “don't be harsh pretty face” Liam answers. Blake tries to steal a cookie from my plate but my glare stops him cold. “Pretty face, you do have a scary glare” Michael says. “She has a name” Blake says, “thank you for being responsible” I tell him “you’re welcome” he says, “ouch, that hurt” Michel says as he playfully touches his heart. I realized that Nicole hasn't said anything but just staring. “What?” I ask him, “what” he replies and I roll my eyes. “What're you having after now” I ask Alysa, “physics” she says. “What about you” Liam asks me. “Nothing, I'm heading off to the library to do my history homework” I say. “We'll come with you” he says, “since when do you guys go to the library” Nicole asks. “Since now” Blake smirks. Caroline, another b***h walks up to our table, “hey babe” she says, “hey baby” Nick answers and she sits on his lap and they start eating each other's faces. Alysa grimaces while I tell the others I've lost my appetite and they laugh. I bid Alysa bye and head to the library. I get to the library and sit at a far end corner and plug in my headphones and listen to 'someone you loved’ while doing my homework. I feel the chairs beside me being pulled and I look up to see Liam, Leo, Blake and Michel. “Is Nick always like that” I say dropping my headphones on the table. “How” Liam asks “cocky, rude, annoying” “nah, he's a nice dude. You'll like him if you get to know him” Blake answers, “as if” I mutter. To our surprise Nicole comes in to join us. “Wow, Nick what're you doing here. We all know you hate books” Leo says. “If only you knew” I say and Nick glares at me. I finish the assignment while the boys talk about things I'm not interested in. My phone beeps and I see a message from my boss 'you're late’. s**t! I totally forgot about the meeting we're having today. I drop my books in my bag and tell the boys I'm off. Before they could say anything, I dash out of the library, into my car and go home to get my gun and then off to the gang house.

I see the sign of 'triple p’ restaurant and I know I'm close to the gang house. I park my car and get out. “You're late” Charlie tells me, “I know” I reply. Charlie's also a close friend of mine. Just like Chase, he's in his twenties and yes Chase is a member of the Titans too for like a long time now. We get into the house and boss gives me the stink eye. “Sorry I'm late, got caught up with school stuff” I tell him. “The Mustangs are attacking, we have to be very alert. They killed one of ours and we had to attack one of them too. We have cordinates of their hide out, we need to plan our next move” Boss says. After all the information, plans, and advice from boss, I decide to have a little chat with Charlie and Chase. We went to the 'triple p’ restaurant to talk. I ordered coffee and toast bread and so did the rest. “So how did this war between boss and Kayler start” I ask them. Kayler Bradford is the leader of the Mustangs, another powerful gang. “Well, it all goes way back to when they were younger. They were best friends for many years till they fell in love with each other. They started dating and were really serious about each other. Later on, Anthony lost his mom, actually she was murdered and he vowed to avenge her death. He soon found out that it was Kayler’s uncle Rex that murdered his mom because he wanted to have her but she fought against it and chose Tony's dad instead.” Chase says. “So what did he do” I ask. “Out of anger, he killed Rex and Fred, Kayler's dad. Kayler's mom left oneday and never came back because she couldn't bear the loss of her husband. Kayler lost it all, when she found out it was Tony who murdered her dad, she was heart broken and ran away. After many years, she came back stronger, and took over the Mustangs with the aim of ending Tony” Charlie says. I only nod my head cause I'm short of words. We get back to the gang house and hear more plans. I'm about to enter our van to run some errands with others when I see a message from mom, 'come home now, it's an emergency’. I dial her number but she doesn't pick up. I have a huge feeling something is wrong and I hurry back home.
