A Fight to Finish

Chapter 2

I stare at the board blankly. We're in third period now and it's math. I hate maths that's why I can only manage to get a D. “Turn your textbooks to page 53, that's your assignment” Mr Johnson says. “Great, what a way to start your first day” I say in my head. I hear the bell ring for break and I almost yell in excitement. I scurry out of the classroom and meet Alysa in the hallway, we hook arms and go to the cafeteria. I pick Coke, hamburger and fries while Alysa takes Sprite and beef rolls. We sit at our usual table far away from the populars’, cheerleaders and wannabe's. At one of the populars’ tables we hear a commotion. I turn to see the table belongs to the five golden boys of our school - Nicole Morgan, Liam Cowells, Leo Smit, Blake Charles and Michel Brown. They're like the dream of every girl in the school minus me. They're well toned and built with all those six pack stuff. Don't ask me how I knew, Alysa told me. “I thought you were kidding” Veronica says. “Well, I'm not, we're over” Nicole answers. “Who's the new girl huh?”she asks. “I don't know, it's none of your business” he says. Veronica screams and bursts out with her minions, Stacey and Maddie. Everyone goes back to their businesses. “I can't believe Nick just broke up with her” Alysa says “it's a normal thing. I wonder who the new girl is and I do pity her cause he'll probably just use her like the others” I say, “yeah you're right” she agrees. Veronica is the queen b***h of our school. She's a slut and a mean one at that. Her minions Stacey and Maddie are sluts too. We do have lots of them in our school but Veronica is top. I wonder what guys see in her anyway. “What are you having after now” Alysa asks me, “home economics” “I guess we're having classes together” she says and I chuckle. “Yeah and we better get going because no one wants Mrs Dawkins to be mad on their first day” I say and we throw our food in the trash can and go for classes before the bell rings. We get to class and take our seats close to each other. I feel pressed and tell Alysa I'll be going to the bathroom. I finish and begin to head back to class. “Hey” I hear but I don't answer. “Hello” the voice says again. I walk faster until I feel a hand grasp me and I turn to meet Blake Charles eyes. It's the five boys and I see a girl on Nicole's arm. “Flirt” I say in my head. “Hey I'm Blake” he says, “like I don't know” I mutter in my mind. I don't answer and stare at the ground. “Can't she talk” Nicole asks, “maybe she's dumb” the girl on his arm says and I feel like scratching her eyes out. “Er.. are you Tyler Dexter's sister” Blake asks. “No, erm.. yes” I say. “Which one should we take” Michel snickers. “Yes” I finally answer. “Oh that's nice, it's a pleasure meeting you. My brother goes to the same school with him” Blake says. “Oh” I only nod and begin to get back to class. I hurry to see that class has already begun. Oh no, I'm dead. “Where’ve you been young woman. You're 3 minutes late” Mrs Dawkins asks me. I rack my brain for an answer. “I….” “she was with us” I turn to see the boys. I roll my eyes. “I believe she can speak for herself” Mrs Dawkins says. “Come on, just let us in. It's not like we've been out forever and we lost our way” Nick says with a smirk. “Well next time be sure to find your way early enough or else it's detention” she fires. “Sure we will” Liam says and we enter the class. Everyone faces the teacher once again and I pull my seat next to Alysa. “You have a lot to talk about” she whispers, “I know” I retort. The day goes by fast and I hear the final bell ring and I dash out of class. I hug Alysa goodbye and get into my car and drive home. I get home and surprisingly, I see dad. “Hey dad” “hey kiddo” he says. The smell of chicken lasagna hits my nose and my stomach begins to growl. “How’s school” dad asks “school was school” I reply. “Any boys?” “don't start” I say and he laughs. I run upstairs, take a shower and come down to eat. I go to my room and do my homework before saying goodbye to reality.
