A Fight to Finish

Chapter 11

I blink my eyes open and groan because of the pains I'm having. I open my eyes to see white walls and I look around and notice the IV connected to my hands and bandages wrapped on my body. “She's awake” I turn to see Alysa and my mom. I try to say something but I can't. My mom goes out to call the doctor and he says I'm responding to treatment, I wonder how long I've been here. “I'm sorry for your loss” the doctor whispers to me, ‘what loss’ I ask myself. “It'll take a while for her to talk, her system's recuperating” he tells mom. My dad walks in and smiles as he sees me awake, seeing him hale and hearty makes me really happy. “Oh baby, I thought you'd never wake up” “David!” mom yells and he laughs. They go out to talk with the doctor and I'm left alone with Alysa. She comes closer to me and whispers “Dallas, you lost the baby” I'm more confused than ever and she notices my confused state. “You didn't know you were pregnant?” she asks me and I manage to tilt my head no. “Oh, they told the doctors not to tell your parents, so they don't know” she continues. They who? I have many questions to ask. “We'll talk when you're strong enough. I've really missed you, Nick and the boys have too” I don't resist to roll my eyes. The door opens and Tyler along with Nicole and his friends walk in, speak about the devil. “Oh, pretty face, I've missed you” Liam says, “she can't talk” Alysa tells him. “Sorry for what happened, Nick told us” Leo says. 'Nick how’ I ask myself again. “Hey Dallas, it's been a long time since I saw you, hope you get better quickly” Nick says to me and for some reason I smile. “Hey little sis, always getting into trouble” Ty says and he's right. “Be sure to get well soon, I've missed your troubles” he adds. After giving me some get well flowers and cards, they leave.

After four more days, I get discharged from the hospital, I'm so glad cause I hate hospitals. I stay at home for a while before resuming school. I think about what I went through during the past few weeks, it's nothing anyone should go through. I can't wait to see Alysa and bombard her with all my questions starting with who saved me.
