DANIA fter breakfast, Dani told Violet and Jack that she had to get to a meeting, then drove to Vroman’s Bookstore. She’d chosen the bookstore café as a meeting place because it had free parking. Even though she was pretty sure Monica would arrive by bus—or new boyfriend—Dani wasn’t about to pay for parking on Monica’s behalf. Or let her sister come to the apartment.
