Claire’s Point of View
The rest of the day speeds by. I found several odd transactions to a company that I cannot find a record of. Tomorrow I’ll go through another year of financial documents and see what else I can find. Knowing what to find makes this fast. Tyler has put a rule on our relationship. No work after 6 pm. It surprised me. I thought for sure he would be the work until midnight kind of man.
The office is quiet. Remaining assistants finish their work. Tyler is downstairs in the SUV, waiting for me. Charlie has stayed to be my escort.
We walk to the elevator in silence. I’ve never had a security guard, so I don’t know what to say. When we enter the elevator, Charlie breaks the silence. Thank goodness. It was going to be a long awkward ride listening to the terrible music.
