The Attraction

They spent the whole evening barely talking to each other; his angry question kept replaying in her head: “What are you doing?” Carla at least needed an explanation or an apology for speaking to her that way, but he never provided either. He just worked past her and went upstairs, leaving her and her thoughts. He was the one who insisted on the tour. Now he's getting angry, “Arrogant man,” she murmured with her cute, sad face. On the dining table, they sat opposite each other, eating; even the staff could feel the cold tension and endless silence. Everyone seemed to focus on their food. Halfway through the meal, she felt a slight brush on her feet, and quickly she removed her leg and glanced up, and he quickly murmured: “Oh, I'm sorry”. The next morning came too fast. When she came downstairs, everyone was already ready… She looked so good with her black fitted corporate gown and red bold lipstick complementing her skin color and announcing her presence. He looked at her slowly when she came down in his black, expensive suit. He looked like the kind of businessman that doesn't negotiate too long. The private jet was even more luxurious than Clara expected. The entire atmosphere screamed “rich “ she admired silently. Clara sat near the window, trying to focus on the clouds outside while Damien spoke quietly with one of his men nearby. “We're going to keep ignoring each other?” She was startled, but she refused to react. She turned her face and added. “I'm here for business, and I think I should focus on that, sir” he looked into her eyes, playful and flirty “ really?” yes, she said, her face still facing the window Your lipstick is quite tempting, he leaned in and whispered to her ear. She turned quickly; the space between them was so little. “ I know you're angry, and I'm sorry for everything” his gaze fixed on her; he reached out his hand and tucked in the loose hair strand across her already red cheeks to her ear, and it made her heart flutter. “You should stop staring at me like that “ she said, almost impossible to hear. “Like what he asked with his eyes “Like you're thinking of something crazy “ His hand slowly brushed against her thigh, lifting her gown with their eyes still locked together. Her entire body reacted instantly, and he leaned in and gave her a slow kiss passionately “Damien…pl… please”, she whispered as she barely managed to speak, breathing heavily with eyes full of desire. She said, “Not here and now “ he smiled and kissed her again. Then suddenly The jet door opened unexpectedly, and Vanessa stepped inside. And immediately froze. Her eyes landed on Clara sitting far too close and on Damien's hand still resting possessively against Clara’s waist. Her face changed immediately. Then Vanessa finally spoke quietly “We’re about to land in Spain sir” Spain was indeed beautiful, as expected. The city buzzed with life, sunlight reflecting off beautiful buildings. Clara changed into a fitted red dress that looked professional while still flattering her figure. Her hair fell neatly over her shoulders, and she wore just enough makeup to highlight her looks. When she stepped into the hotel lobby, Damien looked up from his phone, stealing a glance with a little smile on his face. The meeting itself went smoothly. As expected, Clara’s translations were flawless. She switched between languages effortlessly, helping both parties communicate without confusion. The Spanish businessman seemed particularly impressed, and several times, he directed compliments toward Clara. “You make this negotiation much easier.” Clara thanked him politely each time. Across the table, Damien remained silent. At one point, the businessman smiled at Clara and asked if she would consider working in Spain permanently. “She won’t.” She looked at him, but his expression revealed nothing. Lying on her bed trying to get a little rest after the business meeting, she heard a gentle knock on her door. Tired, she said” Come on in,” and Damien stepped inside. His jacket gone and his shirt rolled up, for once he looked like a billionaire and an ordinary man at the same time. “Can I sit in?” standing new to the chair close to the bed asked, and she nodded immediately in approval. About the painting,” Damien said quietly, his gaze fixed on the floor for a moment. “It was my mother’s. The only portrait of her I have.” Clara immediately understood, and a wave of guilt washed over her chest. “I’m sorry,” she said softly with guilty eyes. The silence that followed wasn’t uncomfortable. For the first time since meeting him, Clara saw him as an ordinary person who had lost someone he loved and never truly recovered from it. Without thinking, she moved a little closer and gently placed her hand over his. Damien looked down at their joined hands before raising his eyes to hers. Neither of them spoke, yet the moment felt purely intimate. Damien slowly leaned closer, his eyes briefly dropping to her lips before returning to her face. When he drew her into his arms, the distance between them disappeared completely. Clara could hear the steady beat of his heart beneath her ear, and for the first time in a long time, she felt safe, and their eyes met again! So many unspoken feelings lingered between them in the moment. Looking at her already standing n*****s, he lifted his hands and gently cupped her breast and kissed her slowly like he was trying to memorize every second of the moment. There were no words heard, but their eyes were loud; he moved her to the bed, pulled up her clothes and placed his lips on her n*****s, and she gave out a soft, quiet moan. Then suddenly his phone rang, distracting them, and he hesitated. He pulled back and glanced at the screen, and then the warmth in his face vanished, and his expression darkened. Clara's stomach dropped; something was wrong!!
