Abby peeked through the billowing white curtains to confirm the weatherman’s prediction. It was going to be a beautiful day. As an added bonus, she was spending it lakeside with Shane. Taking Devin to his grandparents had gone smoother than expected. The Martin’s were thrilled to see him and had actually been friendly to her. She wasn’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth. For the first time, Abby felt Devin would grow up surrounded by family.
Glancing at the time, Abby quickly dressed. She was running late. She packed a cooler with lunch and added marinated chicken and veggies for supper. She assumed Shane had a grill at his place.
