I glanced from the guards to Mia, then the guards then Mia again, confused on who to address first. The guards are my most pressing challenge at the moment, so that's quite important.
Mia on the other hand wasn't supposed to be here which leaves her appearance to a matter of importance.
My curiosity won and I began walking up to her. Her scent drew me in. Her beauty was alluring and I drank the sight of her. Yes, she was attractive but I wasn't as drawn to her before she got my mark. And nothing could compare this with what I had shared with Marianne, but I feared it would only grow stronger. Hence, the reason why I keep my distance.
