Chapter 12

Joshua's POV

My entire life I have looked up to my dad, he has always been my hero. I have trained my hardest and worked to the best of my ability since I was 6 years old because I wanted to make my dad proud and show him I will make a good Alpha one day. The disappoitment I saw in his eyes last night broke me though. Never has my dad looked at me like that, he didn't even say anything to me after I confessed everything, he simply walked out of his office and left me and my mum standing alone.

"He will come round sweetheart, just give him time" she said trying to reassure me "Get back to the party and tomorrow you need to find a way to apologise to Mia." She squeezed my hand before leaving.

I didn't go back to the party, I just went straight for my room, took a bottle of Scotch out of my minibar and poured myself a stiff drink. I'm laid in bed thinking over everything I have done and working out a way to apologise to Jasmine when I feel someone trying to link me. I threw up a block on the link last night so no one could disturb me. I pull the block down and I am greeted by the voice of my Gamma, Carter. "Dude, you need to get down to the dining room now. Mia is ranting and raving about Jasmine and how she should be banished from the area. Alpha Joe looks ready to rip her head off" This is all I need "On my way dude".

I can hear Mia's voice before I hit the bottom step, I love that girl but she doesn't know when to stop. "ENOUGH" s**t my father is going to kill her "You may be my son's mate and the future Luna but I will not tolerate disrespect for any member of this pack or the people we love. How dare you question the decisions Me and the Luna make regarding the people in my territory, human, werewolf or otherwise!"

I walk in the room and it's that quiet you could hear a pin drop. Everyone around the table, besides my mum, is showing their neck to my dad in submission and Mia looks on the verge of tears.

"Mia, perhaps me and you should take our breakfast out to the porch" I break the silence. My dad nods at me and my mum mouths thank you to me.

Jasmine's POV

Once we had all had a few minutes to digest what I said Sarah and Jade go to make everyone some drinks.

Alpha Joe turns to me and grabs my hand "Jasmine, on my honour, I will protect you and your pup or die trying" I smile at him in gratitude.

"Hell yeah he will or I will turn his family jewels in to earrings" Sarah shouts from the kitchen, making us all burst in to laughter and the tension in the room breaks.

"Thank you Alpha, that means a lot to me"

"No worries child, you are family now so it is my duty to protect you and drop the title, family get to call me Joe" He smiles at me and I can't help but throw my arms around him and hug him.

The doorbell ringing breaks us apart. "I will grab the door" Sarah announces walking out of the kitchen.

"I swear she forgets this isnt her house sometimes" Naomi grumbles earning a chuckle from her dad.

Suddenly I can hear angry voices down the hallway and look at the others. We all go to see what the commotion is and standing there in the doorway is Joshua and Mia. They both turn to look at me.

"Joshua came to apologise to you Jasmine but Mia here wouldn't allow him to come alone" Sarah rolls her eyes and tuts.

"Please can we talk alone Jasmine?" he pleads with me but before I can answer him Mia pipes up "Anything you two have to say to each other can be said in front of everyone, plus that human owes me an apology for trying to steal my mate."

"Son, get your mate out of here now before I blow a gasket and decapitate her!" Wow, Joe really is a scary man when he is angry, I would not like to be on his bad side.

Joshua nods and drags a protesting Mia away before Sarah shuts the door.

Joe looks around us all and eventually settles his gaze on me "Jasmine, I think for your safety and the safety of your pup, you need to move away. Mia is unhinged right now and I dont trust her around you" he sighs and smiles sadly at me.

And with that we are all heading to the one place I don't want to be... the pack house. They all assure me that Mia won't be about. Joshua's gamma, Carter, has been ordered by the Alpha to keep them both off packlands for the rest of the day.

We all head to the conference room where the current Beta, Beta Female, Gamma and Gamma female are already waiting for us.

Alpha Joe explains the situation and asks if anyone has a solution. After a few minutes of silence The Beta, Sean's dad speaks up.

"I think I might have an idea" He points to his wife Jodie who smiles and nods at him to carry on "Our nephew is the Alpha of the snow pack just over the borders of Scotland. We could send Jasmine there until the pup is older and no longer in danger"

We all look to Alpha Joe to see what he thinks.

"That sounds like a good idea but why would the Alpha agree to hiding a human for a pack he doesn't have an alliance with?" That is a very good question indeed.

"I can answer that Uncle Joe" Sean stands up and The Alpha waves for him to continue.

"Alpha Daniel does not have a Luna, she passed away during a rogue attack 2 years ago. My granny had to come out of retirement take over the Luna duties. Jasmine has many qualities of a good Luna and could help take a weight off his shoulders. Plus, his pack is known to house humans, witches and other supernatural creatures."

"Not a bad idea at all, Beta Steve, can you call your nephew and ask him if he would do this for us in exchange for an alliance between our packs?" The Alpha turns to his Beta who nods his head and walks out of the room.

"Everyone go get some food while we wait to hear the verdict." And just like that, we are dismissed.
