"How are you feeling?" Ethan asked, as he walked into the room.Alice tried to sit up, but felt a sharp pain in her side. "I'm okay," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thanks to you guys." Ethan nodded, his expression serious. "We're a pack, Alice," he said softly. "We look out for each other. No matter what."Alice felt a sense of gratitude wash over her, and then felt a pang of guilt.
