Chapter 3:The hard decision

"Alice felt a sense of resignation wash over her as she looked at him. She knew he was right – they could never be together, not in the way that they wanted. For a long moment, the two of them just stood there, lost in thought. Finally, Alice spoke. "I have to go," she said, her voice filled with sadness. "But I'll never forget you. You'll always have a place in my heart."The stranger nodded, his expression unreadable. "Goodbye, Alice," he said softly.

With a heavy heart, Alice turned and walked away, her thoughts consumed by the memories of their time together. "Alice, you know that can't be," he said softly. "We've talked about this before. He's not part of our pack, and he's not someone we can trust."I know," Alice said, her voice tinged with sadness. "But I can't help the way I feel. He was my first love, and even though I've moved on, I can't forget about him."Ethan nodded, understanding in his eyes. "I know it's hard," he said, his voice gentle.

He was just as tall and strong as she remembered, his fur a deep, rich brown. Finally, the stranger turned around, his eyes meeting hers. For a moment, they just stared at each other, neither one saying a word. Finally, the stranger spoke. "Alice," he said softly, his voice filled with emotion. "I had to see you again. I couldn't stay away."

Alice felt tears welling up in her eyes as she walked towards him. "I missed you," she said, The stranger stepped forward, his eyes filled with longing. "I missed you too," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Alice took another step forward, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that she shouldn't be here, that she shouldn't be talking to the stranger. But she couldn't help herself – she had to see him again. They stood there for a moment, just looking at each other, lost in their own thoughts and feelings.

Finally, the stranger spoke again. "Alice, I know I shouldn't be here," he said, his voice heavy with regret. "But I couldn't stay away. I had to see you again."Alice felt a surge of emotion welling up inside her. She knew that she should turn and walk away, that she should leave the stranger behind once and for all.
