I face Hope. Gods, she’s so close. So full of life. “Hope…” My voice catches. I breathe out and start again. “I used to believe the Moon made someone for everyone. That somewhere out there, someone was mine. I imagined her sometimes… but it was always just shadows. I never could have dreamed up you.” She laughs softly through a tear. “You’re real, and you’re better than any dream. You’re fierce and brilliant and kind in a way that makes people around you softer. Stronger. Braver. You bring balance to the chaos in me. Harmony I didn’t know I was missing. You make me… more.” A tear slips down her cheek. I brush it away. “I vow to honor you. To walk beside you. To lift you up, even when I don’t have the words. I vow to choose you—every day, even when the road is hard. Especially then.”
