Prologue — The Girl They Shouldn’t Have Touched
The rain poured heavily over the silent streets of Seoul.
Inside a dark alley, a man fell to his knees, trembling in fear.
His eyes widened as a pair of black boots slowly stepped closer.
A woman’s shadow appeared beneath the dim streetlight.
Calm. Elegant. Dangerous.
The man’s voice shook.
Man said—
“Please… please don’t kill me… I’ll tell you everything…”
The woman tilted her head slightly.
Her long black coat moved with the wind.
Woman said softly—
“You already had your chance.”
The man’s breathing became frantic.
Man said—
“I swear! I didn’t know he would die! I was just following orders!”
For a moment, the woman said nothing.
Then she slowly removed her gloves.
Revealing dark tattoos wrapping around her fingers and wrist.
The man’s eyes widened in terror.
Man whispered—
“Black… Panther…”
The woman smiled faintly.
Cold.
Merciless.
She stepped closer.
Woman said quietly—
“You should have thought about that… before you helped destroy my brother.”
A gunshot echoed through the alley.
And somewhere far away…
A university bell rang.
Three hours later.
Vespera Moretti stood in front of the gates of Seoul Royal University.
Large glasses covered her sharp eyes.
Her hair was tied neatly.
Her long sleeves hid every tattoo.
She looked like the perfect shy nerd.
Students walked past her without even noticing.
One girl laughed loudly nearby.
Ara Kang.
The daughter of the principal.
The girl who once ruined someone’s life.
Vespera watched her silently.
Her lips curved slightly.
Vespera whispered—
“Let the game begin.”
