Far from the countryside lived a girl in a small house with lots of joy and hopes. Due to her family's poverty, she had to marry at the age of 16 and give up her hopes on her studies. Neeraja had then lost her husband. She had to pay him in return for progeny .She lost her identity of being a wife and in return was gifted the identity of being a mother. Although she had no hopes of leading her life, she led it for the sake of her going-to-be child.
She restarted her life leaving all the sorrow, solitude and fear. She worked hard for her child and tried to eat healthy at least for the sake of her child. But the traces of poverty did not leave her. Hardly could she manage food for a single time in a day. On top of that, her medicines took away all the money she had collected for her parturition.
Time waits for none and it passed away as fast as the blink of an eye. Seven months passed away and on a full moon night, all of a sudden, Neeraja got labor pains. All of a sudden ,the condition became critical and she had to give birth at her home with the help of some neighbouring women. All her pain vanished on the sight of her little girl. Her delight and joy could be seen in her eyes. She was so happy that tears flew from her eyes.
No sooner did she taste the happiness, she had to taste the sorrow. The baby could not lift her arms. It was observed by Neeraja after a period of one complete month. When taken to the doctor, she was informed that the little girl was suffering from hypotonia and it may cost her whole life." It would be a miracle if the girl could use her hands" were the only words uttered by the doctor. People teased saying that it would be better if Neeraja leaves her child in some orphanage or kill the girl. How brutal were their words. Even the stones had better emotions than their words. Words did I say ,they were abuses. They were all numb and anesthetised. But, Neeraja did not give away hope. She instead answered everyone saying that "LEAVING MY CHILD AWAY IS LEAVING MY LIFE AND DOING SO ALL THE PAIN WHICH SHE SUFFERED WOULD GO IN VAIN. By such answer, she could shut the mouth of every barking person. Such unconditional is mother's love.......
