CHAPTER NINE
EDRIC STOOD IN FRONT of his window, staring out at the moonlit night beyond. The clouds that had hovered claustrophobically over the area since he’d arrived in Hell had finally slid away, leaving behind the better part of a full moon.
Moonlight bathed the cemetery in a soft, comforting light, creating non-threatening shadows around the ancient, tumbling tombstones. A sharper, rectangular shaped light suddenly spread across the ground below his window and then shut off, as if a door had opened and then closed again.
Edric didn’t have to wait long for a familiar form to move gracefully into view, heading for the graveyard. A smaller, considerably more circular, shadow wound insistently around her ankles.
