They were heading back to El Diablo, following Alf’s H2 down the heavily treed, winding road toward Hell.
Godric grinned. “But Nurse Radcliffe seemed to like me.”
Brita snorted. “And the evidence of that is what, exactly?”
His grin widened. “I’m still alive and have all my man parts.”
Percy laughed. “Only because there were witnesses. I’d hate to meet that woman in a dark alley without a weapon in my hand.”
“Preferably large caliber.” Edric agreed. He glanced at Bella, who’d been suspiciously quiet since the episode in Garth’s room. He was determined to get her alone as soon as they got back to El Diablo and find out what had happened back there. Whatever it was it had given him the serious creeps.
