CHAPTER SEVEN BELLA OPENED THE DOOR to her room and Fammy surged through, twining softly around her ankles. The cat’s purr rumbled loudly in the quiet room. “Hey pretty girl. Where have you been? You were almost late to the party.” The cat’s formerly white paws were black and her soft fur was speckled with dust. “You’re a mess!” Bella glanced at the clock. She didn’t have time to give the cat a bath. “You’ll have to clean yourself up later, Fam. We need to get to the lobby for the tour now.” The cat yowled her displeasure at this plan. “Oh dang! You need to eat don’t you?” Bella closed her door and headed toward the cat’s favorite soft food. Anything else she would pick at and take her time eating.
