Chapter 2

I am watching mom right now leaving me...again. I am not that sad because I have Eleanor. That's her purpose why I bring her

I turned around and saw Eleanor with full of compassion that she's worried that I am alone again. Instead, I give her a big smile. She even open her arms to give me a hug.

"I am not sad because of that Eleanor. I have you and Gabrielle even though he doesn't wanna talk to me" I said while frowning.

I saw Gabrielle stunned because of what I say. I am sure that his blood is boiling because of anger. I laughed.

"Let's go to men section! Buy a bag Gabrielle. For your school" I said then point out the men's outlet. I walked first but Eleanor held my hand.

"Noelle, it's not proper. I supposed to buy a bag for my son, not you" she said trying ti explained me everything. I clearly understand it, it's just I wanna help.

And I think, this is just a second time she called me by my first name! I love it!

"Noelle is better than Maam, right?" Me trying to dislocate the topic we're talking to.

"Gabrielle, let's go!" I said. He nodded and we go inside the store.

I saw different kind of bags. There's color blue, white, black and red. I wonder why their bag is only four colors. Unlike on girls stuff, we have what we call pastel blue, lavender, beige and a lot more. Girls have lots of choices, that's kinda great.

"Better to keep your mouth shut Noelle" Gabrielle said sarcastically.

If Eleanor heard it, I am sure she will scolded. Gabrielle is a type of boy who's shy and too serious. It's just like, jokes is not in his vocabulary. Weird.

"Hey!" I said. He's trying to piss me off.

"What?" He asked then laughed. It reavels his dimple. Too cute.

"Stop teasing me! Go and pick something, I wanna go somewhere!" I said the cross my arms, still staring at him.

We caught some personnel's attention. They are looking at me, and Gabrielle who's laughing right now.

"Can you stop laughing?! Earlier you we're too serious but, now you're too annoying! Hate you Gab!" I shouted. I don't care if other people will heard us arguing. Eleanor is outside the store.

"Why you're so annoyed, then?" He asked.

"Don't talk to me" I said then roll my eyes.

"If you want, let's go home" he said now, serious. His even holding a blue bag.

"Go pick something and let's go home. I am already annoyed" I said with a discourage voice.

"It's too early to go home, dude! What will you do in your house huh? Stay in your room all night? Doing nothing? Common that's so boring" he said rapidly then looked away. He's holding the bag and he go directly to the counter.

"Why do you care, huh? Earlier you don't wanna talk to me and now you're telling me a lot of crazy stuffs!" I said with a disgusted voice. I really wanna scream so bad!

I get my credit card to pay the bag that he picked. As i am lending the card to the counter Gabrielle stop me and he pay it by himself.

"Don't need to pay for me, it's my own bag. Noy yours" he said sarcastically.

Sometimes, I can't understand him. His attitude is changing every time it's hard. While we are waiting to pack the bag he spoke.

"Why don't you come in our house? Let's have dinner in our place. If mom will allow us ofcourse" Gabrielle said inviting me to come over to their house.

I am too glad to refused, right? I wanna see houses and how they live downtown. As we finished we headed back to the parking lot. I also asked them if they want to have something like food. But, they refused.

"Are you sure Noelle?" Eleanor asked still not convince that I want to go to their house and eat.

"Yeah ofcourse, that's my wish remember?" I said remembering when I was dreaming about having a simple life downtown and not in a big house that I have.

I am really curious how's the feeling if you don't have any maids that will help you with house chores and your cook. I wanna experience those things. I also wanna go to a normal school since I am just a home school student. I don't even call myself as a STUDENT because of that.

"You can go to our house anytime if you want Noelle" Gabrielle said while smiling.

I got confused out of nowhere. "Gabrielle?" I started. I suddenly caught his attention. "Why you're kinda mean to me earlier? Like you're too serious" I asked.

I really wanna know. Maybe I said something that offends him.

"Uhmm" he looks uncertain on how he will answer me. " I taught you're inclement but you are not. I guess" he said shyly.

My eyes widened because of the word that he use. Inclement? Seriously?! Am i look like that? God!

"We are here" Eleanor added then open the door.

I am too busy to look at the window and watch the other cars passing by because of our mini talk with Gabrielle.

I look at the surroundings. There are a lot of house...some house are small and some are not. There are children outside playing something with a can and slippers. I don't know that game.

As I am watching children's while playing that game, Gabrielle nudge me. "What?" I asked then look again to those children. They are too cute with a big smile on their face.

"Let's go inside" He said then pull me.

"I will! Don't pull me, dude" I said then push him. He laughed.

As I enter their house it really has a huge difference between their house and our house. They have few interiors but I was still amazed because their house is pretty clean.

"Noelle, sorry for our house and please have a sit" Eleanor offered me their mini couch.

"No, I love your place. Can I go here everytime?" I asked while still observing.

"You have school Noelle" Eleanor reminding me.

"I am just home school, after that I can go here" I said trying to convince her.

"It's okay with me, but you need to ask your mom first. And your dad" Eleanor explained. I nod three times.

"You're just home school Noelle? Why?" Gabrielle asked me with a frowning face.

I laughed. He doesn't have any idea. "Yes I am. Mommy wants me to be on that way instead going to the university having friends and enjoy my teen age life" I explained trying not to cry.

"That's sad" Gabrielle said then make a sad face.

"Yeah, so I am not ALL GOOD like what you've said earlier before we go to the mall" I emphasized the two word like how he did.

He covered his mouth like he was surprised that he said those kind of things.

"You said that Gabrielle?" Eleanor asked her son looks disappointed.

"It's not my intention to offe—" Eleanor cut him off.

"Still! I said keep your mouth shut" Eleanor said. Pissed off. He even pinch Gabrielle.

I laughed so hard! "No, that's okay. I hope Gabrielle can be my friend. You can also go to our house everyday. Just make sure you won't disturb me when I am studying online.

"Shhh! Come and let's eat. Sit here Noelle" Eleanor

Our food is chicken pork adobo looks so yummy with rice and our drink is iced tea! My favorite for all time!

"Where's your dad Gabrielle?" I asked as I sit and grab my fork and spoon.

Gabrielle and Eleanor startled. They are both looking at me like I said something wrong.

"Noelle, my husband died 5 years ago because of heart attack" Eleanor explaine then smirked.

Now I know why they are staring at me earlier like I said something wrong because I really do. I can't stop myself from asking a lot of stuffs! I hate myself!

"It's not my intention, tho. I am sorry" I said with a sad voice. I also make sure that I am sincere.

"Okay, we are already fair!" Gabrielle said while laughing.

I get his point.

"Yeah, let's just eat" I said then smile. "This looks yummy! Did you make this Eleanor?" I asked.

"Gabrielle and I cooked this. This is really yummy, go and try" Eleanor said then lend me the food.

"You know what, teach me how to cook since my mom dosn't have anytime to teach me nor my dad" I said normally but it looks like they are worried. I think they are pitying me.

"Hey! That's true and I already accept it months ago" I added.

"I will go to your house to teach you, then" Gabrielle said softly. He volunteer. I wish i have this kind of family. Simple yet full of love.

It's been a week when I visited Eleanor's house and as what Gabrielle said, he always go here if he has free time and usually we play in our xbox.

It's already 11 in the morning and I am just staring at my laptop waiting for my online class to end.

Someone knocked three times.

"Come in" I said still staring at my laptop's screen.

At last! It's already finished.

"Are you done?" Gabrielle asked me. He's seated in my swing. He really wants sitting there, I wonder

I stood up and sat on the other side of my swing.

"When will your class start?" I asked as I sat beside him.

"Tomorrow" he said with no any reaction.

Is he sad? Or happy? He doesn't have any reaction at all. What a human?!

"What's that expression, huh? I can't identify if you are happy or not" I said sarcastically. I even laughed while staring at him.

"I am not sad, you get me wrong" he defend. My eyes widened because of that. "I am not the one who will be sad here, you are the one who will be sad" he added then smirked.

My brain doesn't function. I am having a hard time to understand all the information that he said. Wait, will he...???

"You won't be able to be here? Is that what you wanna try to say? Am i correct?" I asked, wondering.

He slowly nod. My heart fluttered. I will lose someone to talk to and play xbox with me.

"I will still make time to be here. We're friends, right? And teach me how to solve math problems" he said then laughed. I wanna hit him because he will come here just for me to teach him some math probles?! Ewww.

"Let's go downstairs. Mom asked me to come here and tell you that it's already lunch time" He explained then stood from sitting here in my color pink swing.

I put my slippers on and went outside. I smell the something. It smells delicious. I ran towards the kitchen to see what Eleanor's cooking.

As i open the pot, the water is boiling which is too hot. I wanna eat right now. I am sure that it's yummy because Eleanor is great, anyways.

"Your mom and dad will be here later, they just informed me" Eleanor said while putting the plates in the table.

I startled because of that. It's very rare when they will go home. They are always in their work or office acting they don't have a daughter. The trutg is, I spent and i grow with our maid and Eleanor.

"Why?" I asked. I don't know why I am confused and that's the word came out from my mouth. I want to be happy about that but I can't. I've used to have no parents at all.

"I want to tell you right now but, they asked me to keep quiet and let them tell you later. They will be here before dinner" Eleanor explained then smile. He forced to smile.

I feel something strange. I am curious, tho.

"It's okay. It's your job to follow all the things they asked you to do. I understand. I'll wait them instead" I said then I started to eat.

I offered them to join me eating lunch but they refused. Also, Gabrielle don't wanna eat. He just sat on our couch in our living room and watch some anime, i think that's anime.

After I ate I sat beside Gabrielle who's to busy while watching. He doesn't even blink that much.

"Hey! You're too serious" I shouted then nudge him. Now, i got his attention.

"What? I am watching can't you see?" Now, he asked me. He is frowning.

I get the remote and turn off the television. I wanna tease him. After that, he look at me with very serious face. He looks like a mad tiger. He is about to burst!

"Can you turn it on again? That's my favorite anime Noelle. Please. This is the last episode" He said then forced me to grab the remote I am holding.

I laughed so hard when he can't grab it to my hands. I even put out my tounge ans teased him. He stood up with crossing his arms.

He walked away going to the kitchen I think. Where his mom located.

"Hey, where are you going?" I asked him but he didn't turn back. I didn't follow him. I just sat here while staring on our decorative light with branches for several light bulbs and candles.

After two minutes Gabrielle went outside. This time I follow him.

I pulled him so that I cam talk to him better. But i was surprised when his face looks nothing. Like he was mad nor happy. I don't know.

"W-where are you g-going Gabrielle?" I uttered. I know he is mad at me.

"Home" he said shortly then turned around. I was startled that until now, i am staring at him until he lost on my sight. He really go home this early.

After that, i go upstairs and lay in my bed. I sighed.

"I was dumb for teasing him that way, next time I won't do it" I said talking to myself.

Mentally i fell asleep. I just woke up when I felt someone is poking me. Even though I am still sleepy, I forced myself to get up from bed.

I saw Eleanor in front of me with a smile on her face like i didn't pissed his son earlier. I look at my window and I was surprised that it's already night. I slept for how many hours? My ghod!

"Your mom and dad is already downstairs waiting for you. Go and fix yourself. Let me tie your hair first" Eleanor asked me then I let her to tie my hair. After that i put some powder all over my face and went outside.

"What time did they arrive? Just now?" I inquire while we're passing on our hallway going to the stairs.

"They jus arrived five minutes ago Noelle" she answered.

I saw mom and dad sitting already in our dining table. They we're ready to eat. I hugged mom and dad before I sat on my seat.

"Is there something wrong why did you go home?" I asked softly. I try not to be sarcastic, i think i passed.

"We are here to get some clothes Noelle. We will go to Norway for business, ofcourse" Dad started. Mom give him a stare.

"What? It's okay. She is already 15 she can understand that we have important things to do" Dad explained talking to mom.

"I understand. Stop arguing please? Let's just eat" I asked them. They stare at each other.

"When will you leave? Mom? Dad?" I demand while staring at my food.

Eleanor prepared some past. I am just playing with my food, i don't have any appetite.

"Later baby, after we pack things. We will go straight to airport" Mom explained. She looks worried what will be my reaction on her sentence.

"Ahh, i see. Okay. I can help you mom packing things" I insist. Mom nod while smiling.

"Okay Noelle. Help me, then. For now, finish your food and let's go upstairs" Mom said having a positive voice.

I get it. That's her way to express that she doesn't have any choice. Like, she needs to go even though she doesn't want to.

"Noelle, let's go" Mom invited me. She even lend her hand, i get it.

"When will you be back mom? Will it take you too long?" I asked, wondering.

"Quite baby. But help me first packing my clothes" Mom asked me.

I open her suitcase and help her to fold her clothes one by one. Mom lots of clothes, we mostly packing winter clothes.

I love winter clothes, they look so beautiful.

Someday I am gonna wear them, too.

"Mom, I have a new friend!" I remembered Gabrielle. I wanna tell mom about Gab.

"Who? the one with you on the mall last time?" She asked me back. I nod excitedly.

"That's Eleanor son, right? What is his name, then?" Mom asked while putting the brown boots in the box.

"Gabrielle mom!" I said still looking at the brown boots. "mom?" I started with peasing voice.

"yes?" Mom look at me.

"I like your boots, the brown one" I said the point the boots.

"you want it? Then, you can have it. It won't fit you now but, someday it will" Mom added then give me the box where the brown boots located.

"Thank you mom, I'll keep this!" I said then hugged the shoe box.

"I love you Noelle I love you forever" Mom said sweetly.

"I love you too, mom. Always and forever" I answered then kissed her on her cheeks.
