Austin watched me closely. I kept glancing at my phone, then back at him.
“Austin.” I called his name, but my voice came out unsure. I didn’t even know what I was about to say.
“I have an emergency now. Tell the messenger to send the priestess back. We’ll call her once I’m back.”
Austin's eyes widened. He stared at me like I’d said something terrible, but he didn’t dare say it out loud.
“Go. Inform the messenger now.”
