CHAPTER 2Cora sat the girl on the couch she had just vacated herself and went back to shut the door. There was nobody in the foyer and only a couple of night lights glowed.
"So how did you know about me and where I was?" she asked after comforting the newcomer and offering her a coffee.
"Deon sent me a text message me that you were here."
Cora frowned. "You know him?" she gasped.
The girl looked up at her. "Didn't he guide you, too?"
Cora nodded. "Let's start at the beginning, shall we? First of all, what is your name?"
"Bree 92765.4. Aren't you a 92765 too?"
"Could be," Cora cautiously replied. "I go by the surname of Watts, Cora Watts. We don't use numbers for our surnames here."
Bree nodded. "So I can be a Watts, too? Deon said this world would be different."
