CHAPTER 15Before they began their journey to find a new world, Zero and Becky made a trip around their sun above their formal planet's orbit. Now, as well as a lonely moon, millions of tonnes of debris orbited the sun. Some flew further into lower orbits and would eventually be burnt up when they became too close to the sun while the rest would become an asteroid belt for thousands of years.
"Zero," Becky said a day after the catastrophe. "We are receiving no electronic transmissions except the 503 automated homing signals. Do you wish to activate the recall protocol?"
Zero frowned. She often forgot that Becky was really just a computer and though sophisticated, sometimes lacked the logic of a human."
