Chapter 7“That really was delicious,” Emery assured his uncle as the three of them now sat in the living room in front of the fireplace and brightly lit Christmas tree. There really was something elegant about the simplicity of the decorations in this particular room. “It’s a simple recipe,” Sherman said. “How do you like the martinis?” As promised, Great Uncle Sherman had made them Christmas Cocktails as he had called them. Capital letters and all. They were chocolate peppermint martinis served in martini glasses with candy cane stripes on the stems and crushed peppermint around the rims. “Delightful. But it’s a good thing I’m staying as I’m getting tipsy.” Sherman glowed with pleasure as he leaned back on the sofa. “Robbie was the bartender. He loved creating concoctions like this.
