Isabel longed to lash out at Andrei, but knowing she was no physical match for him, she opted to ignore his call and turned to walk the other way through the garden, planning a longer route back to the lab.
She believed he wouldn't stalk her into Chris' lab.
As Isabel deliberately ignored him, Andrei's frustration intensified, his furrowed brow deepening and a vein throbbing visibly on his forehead. He marched over to her, grabbed her arm, and yanked her around to face him.
"I'm talking to you. Can't you hear, or are you just tired of playing mute and now starting to play deaf?"
Feeling cornered, Isabel found her tension spiked. She glanced around and fortunately, they were alone. Biting her lip, she jerked her arm free from his grip and rubbed the spot where he had held her.
