"Wh...what are you doing here?" I stammered, my breath hitching as I took a small step back, completely caught off guard by his sudden presence.
Kaden’s gaze locked onto me, his face giving absolutely nothing away, making it impossible to tell what he was thinking.
Had he seen the bird? Had he been standing there long enough to notice? How much had he actually witnessed before I turned around?
