BELLA’S POV
“Wait,” Fiona whispered, her voice so soft it was barely there. “This is wrong.” It was clear that only the guards standing beside us could hear her quiet, broken mumbling.
“State your crimes,” Kaden said, directing his cold voice at Asher.
The hall was completely still. Asher said nothing. He just stared straight at Kaden with unblinking eyes.
Kaden added, “I don’t suppose you men managed to burst his eardrums by accident?”
I saw a slight twitch at the corner of Asher’s lips. He could hear every word. Kaden must have caught it too because he paused briefly.
“Out of mercy, I’m giving you the chance to speak in front of everyone here,” Kaden said. He spoke as though he was doing something generous.
