Living By the Middle

A City

"Dear, you need to prepare for the seminar you are about to attend to. what are you gonna write about it as a secretary as you report?'

"Five minute mom, five minutes."

"Wake up! You haven't cooked yet, besides, we're going to the office together."

"Ok fine. Just make it fast when you're taking a bath. I need one too before going out."

"Besides, you need to process your resignation request, you're already moving to C city for college."

I was startled for a minute, I was reminded again that I needed to leave for college. I hated that place, no, let me rephrase it, I hate the house I'm going to stay in. 

"Dear, are you ok?" I was back to earth.

"Ah, yes yes, I'm fine. I was just thinking of what to cook."

"Ok, go now. I'm going to take a quick bath."

It's been seven years since father left. The house was even improved since he left us, and mom has been working two jobs to  move on. That's what I thought. I still see mom looking at my father's photos, and even talk about him sometimes. About two years ago as I was staying there, I didn't even feel that he was my father anymore. I feel so shy to ask him what I need and want, like he's a stranger to me. Then he opened my account one time, reading how my sister and I talked trash to his mistress and got a bit drama with me. He won't even think  at our side that maybe we just can't accept things so easily. Besides, ,we can forgive but we can never forget.

 Five days later, I was already packed to move to C city for college. bracing myself for the possibilities that may occur. I'll be leaving for tomorrow. Besides, my mom won't be having any problems once I leave, my cousin who stayed here for so long can satisfy mom and make her proud for their similarities that I don't have. She's talented, beautiful, intelligent, sociable, and a business minded woman like mom. I don't posses any of those. They even have light brown eyes that I don't have. 

"Babe, you won't forget about me would you?" depend on how I get busy boyfie.

"No, of course I won't. I text and call you every moment even if I'm busy babe."

Then he kissed me passionately here at our meeting place. He's actually my longest boyfriend for this past years, but I kinda hate how he is being feeling close to my relatives just because he met them at my birthday. He even comments to every post I create on social media. Just because we're legal doesn't mean we're married for God's sake!

After that, went to some places I will surely miss, and got in touch with some of my few friends. Besides, I ain't the outside person, I prefer staying indoors and go for a walk on a peaceful afternoon. 

"Bye mom. See you as soon as I can come home."

"Be careful out there child. Who knows what kind of tricks that woman has. Just remember, just do the house chores if possible before doing your stuffs ok? And be cautious to your actions. you are aware to how she do her traps just to destroy your image."

"Yes mom. I will."

*Beep beep*

"Oh, there's you ride. Be careful child. I love you. Now remember all what I've said ok?"

"Yes mom. Bye. Love you too."

Then we departed for C city.
