Chapter Twenty-Two Jude After leaving Dottie’s place, I went to my apartment, got a bottle of water out of the fridge, then walked to the balcony at the other end of the hall. “Well, I guess this is it for me. Another night alone.” I sighed as I sat on the old bench. “This isn’t what I had in mind when I left the church. Where are my new friends? Dates? Jesus, I could have remained a priest and still had this much fun.” Suddenly, the back of my neck throbbed, and I wondered if this was all I had to look forward to.
