Chapter Twenty-Four Jude “Maybe I should go shopping for new clothes.” I sighed, hating everything in my closet. For most of my adult life I hadn’t worried about my appearance, but now it seemed vitally important. Would Max care about my clothes? “Well, there’s nothing I can do about it now.” I mumbled, then lifted my arms and pulled the boring gray button-down shirt over my head without unbuttoning it. A red t-shirt underneath a basic black blazer and a pair of jeans would have to do for tonight, because there wasn’t much else to choose from. I sat on the edge of the antique double bed and pulled on my jeans, then stepped into a pair of brown leather loafers.
