I waited until morning, my decision clear in my mind, and told my father that the wedding was cancelled. I asked an Omega to take me back to the Eclipse Pack, but it wasn’t long before Adam came storming in, clearly having been told by the Omega.
"Why are you doing this?" he asked, his voice full of frustration. My father and Alison, sensing the tension, quietly excused themselves, leaving us alone.
"Doing what, Adam?" I replied, my voice still sharp with anger and hurt.
"We were supposed to come here and have a proper wedding ceremony," he said, as if that would fix everything. I couldn’t help but smile bitterly.
"To what end?" I asked. "A ceremony won’t stop my heat, and it won’t ease my pain." My voice cracked slightly, but I held his gaze.
"Please, Elsa, try to understand,"
