The Awakening Power. 14

1952 Words
I woke up to an empty room and decided to take a stroll around it, certain that the door was locked. I scrutinized the floor and ceiling, searching for any clues that may leave a hint to uncover his hidden identity. Suddenly I felt an intense surge of energy course through my body. The pain that followed was excruciating, and I felt an overwhelming urge to pass out. However, I mustered all my strength to resist the sensation and gently sat down on the floor. As I struggled to comprehend what was happening, I couldn't help but wonder about the mysterious new power that had awakened within me. I had never tapped into my mind's core before, and this unfamiliar energy both fascinated and terrified me. Another puzzling aspect was the enormous increase in my physical strength. What was the source of this sudden transformation I stood up, meeting the prince's gaze. I wasn't shocked to see him; he must have teleported himself in when I wasn't aware. His eyes locked onto mine, devoid of emotion, yet I sensed he had seen something within me. I walked to the mirror, and my eyes sparkled with a radiant sea-blue hue. As I turned to face the prince, our eyes met once more. Suddenly, a surge of power enveloped me, and before I knew it, I found myself standing alongside him in an open, expansive space. "Let's have a duel," he said, his voice calm and collected. "Why should I?" I asked, intrigued by the unexpected challenge. "You want to test me, to awaken something," I stated, my intuition guiding me. "What's there to gain?" I asked, seeking clarity on his motives. Just then, I sensed Amanda's presence, and a powerful force swirled around the prince and me. The next moment, we stood together in an open field, surrounded by thorny trees that stretched towards the sky like skeletal finger . I lay on the ground, wounded and vulnerable, while the prince stood tall, seemingly unaffected by the chaos around us. Despite his stoic demeanor, I felt a pang of sympathy for him. This moment was the culmination of Amanda's long-held dreams, and he was here, standing confidently, as if fate itself had brought him to this place. As I struggled to catch my breath, I saw a knife hurtling towards me. I tried to dodge it, but more knives followed, each one aimed at my heart. Just as I felt the piercing pain of the blades breaking through my skin, everything stopped. I opened my eyes to see the prince standing over me, his hand outstretched, as if he had halted the knives in mid-air. His eyes met mine, and for a fleeting moment, I saw a glimmer of emotion beneath his stoic exterior. It was a look of concern, of protection, and it left me breathless. I watched in horror as Amanda's long, sharp-edged sword hurtled towards the prince. Without hesitation, I rushed to his side, ready to take the stab in his place. But just as the sword was about to strike, it halted in mid-air and shattered into pieces, much like the previous knives. The prince turned to me, his voice louder than his usual tone. "Why did you do that?" he asked, his eyes narrowing slightly. I felt a flutter in my chest as I met his gaze. "Wait, are you annoyed?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant despite the rising heat in my face. "I didn't ask you to save me," he said, his voice firm but controlled. "You could have hurt yourself." I felt a surge of defensiveness, but I tried to keep my tone light. "Did I ask you to save me?" I shot back, turning away to hide my blushing face. "I didn't." The prince's expression softened slightly, and he took a step closer to me. "How can we get out of here?" I asked, trying to steer the conversation back to our predicament. "Amanda's voice is loud," I said, but the prince's calm demeanor belied the urgency of the situation. "It's an illusion," he said, his voice low and reassuring. I turned to face him, and he drew me closer, his hand enveloping mine. Our bodies met, and I felt a spark of electricity run through me. I stared up at him, expecting to see some reaction to our proximity, but his expression remained impassive. He closed his eyes, and I saw his lips move as he whispered words under his breath. Before I could even process what was happening, the world around us blurred, and we were suddenly standing in his room. He gently dropped me onto his bed, pulling the covers over me. "Rest," he said, his voice soft and commanding. I stared up at him, expecting him to ask me questions, but he remained silent. I didn't want him to ask me anything, didn't want to relive the events of the past few hours. I tried to force myself to sleep, to shut out the thoughts and emotions swirling through my mind. But as I lay there, I couldn't shake the feeling that the prince's silence was not just kindness, but also a calculated move, one that would change the course of our relationship forever. Before I knew it, I had dozed off. I woke up to find the prince staring at me, his eyes fixed intently on mine. "You're awake," he said, standing up from the chair beside the bed. "Were you watching me all this while?" I asked, my voice laced with a hint of unease. He shook his head. "I just came in as you were shaking your head violently." I stared at him, trying to process the throbbing pain in my head. It felt like a loud bang was resonating through my skull, and I struggled to succumb to the agony. But it only grew more unbearable, and I felt like I could pass out at any moment. Suddenly, a surge of power coursed through my veins, unlike anything I had ever experienced before. It was a burning yet icy sensation, as if my blood had been set aflame. I couldn't hold it in anymore, and I let out a loud shout. The prince didn't flinch, didn't even blink. He just stared at me, his expression as impassive as ever. "My power has been awakened tremendously," I whispered, still trying to grasp the magnitude of what was happening within me. The pain subsided, and I stared at the prince, my body drenched in sweat. I fought the urge to close my eyes, but they grew heavier with each passing moment. Eventually, I succumbed to the exhaustion and fell into an unknown realm. In this mystical place, I saw another version of myself standing in a rocky terrain surrounded by massive bodies of water. I realized that my mind's eye had been unlocked, granting me access to the depths of my inner power. I was no longer limited to tapping into the surface level of my abilities; I now had full possession of them. All I needed to do was cultivate this power to prevent it from overwhelming me. As I gazed around, I took in the rugged landscape and the vast expanse of water. Suddenly, I felt an unseen force pulling me away, and I was jolted back to reality. I woke up to find the prince staring at me with eager eyes. However, the moment our gazes met, he quickly looked away, his eyes drifting above my head. "Finally, you're up," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. He turned and walked away, disappearing from sight before I could even react. I stepped out of the bed, feeling a sense of aimlessness. That's when the door swung open, and Derek walked in. I stared at him, unsure of what to expect. We locked eyes, the air thick with unspoken words. Derek walked into the room, closing the door behind him, and stood there, his gaze fixed on me, speechless. I, too, was unable to find my voice, so I shifted my attention towards the kitchen, my eyes drifting aimlessly. Just then, the door swung open, and a maid stepped in, her hands laden with linens. But before she could take another step, the room was plunged into darkness. The curtains dropped, and the door slammed shut, enveloping us in an eerie silence. I felt a sudden, inexplicable force brush past me, and I knew, without a doubt, that it was him – the prince. He was a man shrouded in mystery, his actions and motivations as unpredictable as the wind. As I stood there, frozen in uncertainty, I couldn't help but wonder what secrets he hid behind those enigmatic eyes. What lay beneath the surface of his calm, collected demeanor? And what did he want from me? The prince's voice echoed, "You may leave," and the door creaked open. I heard the sound of retreating footsteps, followed by the soft thud of the door shutting behind the departing maid. The room, once shrouded in darkness, was suddenly bathed in light. As my eyes adjusted to the brightness, I saw him standing in front of me, his tall, imposing figure radiating an aura of quiet power. I retreated backwards, my heart racing with fear, my feet faltering beneath me. My heel caught on the edge of the rug, and I felt myself slipping. Time seemed to slow down as I struggled to regain my balance. But before I could hit the ground, I felt strong hands wrap around me, steadying me. The prince's hands were like a vice, holding me firmly in place. He drew me close to him, my feet still planted firmly on the ground. I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body as his chest touched mine, sending shivers down my spine. He said, his hand leaving my waist as he began walking away. I felt a sudden sense of abandonment, and my voice caught up with him. "What exactly do you want from me?" I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral. He stopped dead in his tracks, his back still turned to me. For a moment, he didn't respond, didn't even flinch. Then, in a low, firm voice, he said: "I want you." His words hung in the air like a challenge, leaving me breathless. I waited for him to elaborate, to explain what he meant. But instead, he turned to face me, his eyes locking onto mine with an unnerving intensity. "What I need is you, Lavender," he said, his voice dripping with a cold, calculated determination. I felt shivers run down my veins as his gaze bore into mine. There was something unsettling about the way he said my name, something that sent a tremor through my entire being. Unable to utter a word, I stood there, frozen, as I watched him vanish into thin air. My legs felt like jelly, and I collapsed onto the bed, my mind reeling with the words he had spoken. After what felt like an eternity, I finally gathered my thoughts and decided to take a bath. I made my way to the bathroom, and the moment I opened the door, the lights flickered to life. I stared, surprised yet somehow not surprised. Without hesitation, I shed my clothes and rushed into the bathtub, where rose petals floated on the surface. I spotted some oils on the edge of the tub and rubbed them onto my skin. The warm water enveloped me, making me want to linger, but I knew I had to hurry before he returned. As I emerged from the water, reality hit me: I hadn't brought a change of clothes.
