A giant manticore tore at the grass as he ran, roaring at anyone who came too close. Then came the fire, raining down out of the sky as Sabina dove at the men, setting several alight before she took back to the skies. She wasn"t alone, at least five other manticores were diving into the chaos they had created. The screaming was deafening, punctuated by the sound of the flames and the stench of burning flesh.
I pulled away from my captors, but there wasn"t much of a way to go to get free of them. I shoved at the closest one and ducked under Javonic"s hand to grab at the g*n of one of his guards.
