Her ebony eyes fall to mine and she silently embraces me.
"It's okay Gin, that was years ago. All feelings I've had regarding the situation have long died away."
I rest my hand on her back, running my fingertips up and down her spin. Occasionally, stopping at her tail and giving it a light scratch.
"You are my family now, and I wouldn't trade you for the world."
I sigh and pull away from her.
"Unfortunately, I need you to shift back. Because, I don't think you'd enjoy pack dinner as much if everyone was staring at you."
She peers at me with her slender ginger brows furrowed.
"Gin, while Emery is away it is my duty to act as Pack Alpha, I can't just hide in my room for two weeks, no matter how much I want to."
