There is no doubt that a world without the person you love is a very lonely world. I never imagined that i had to live in this painful lie all by myself. I still had Lucy with me and that made this whole situation a little bit easier to bare.
Mike was still tied to a chair in our living room and, eventually, his eyes fluttered open and adjusted to the dim light that shone just above us. He skimmed the area and almost immediately realized what had happened and where he was. Instead of saying anything in his defense, he just silently sat there and stared at me. It was almost as if he was not even sorry that all this had happened. After a few moments of silence, i understood that if i said nothing, we would both just be sat there uselessly.
