Project Schemer - Salvatore Trilogy: Prelude

Arc 2 - Chapter 2: The long pause.

My rule shine the color of Azure after the contract with Tomoe finally complete, but what is my rule ? Protection ? Magnifier ? I don't even know what is my limit, what can i even do with my power. Before i have these power, i don't even know about them, now i know them, i felt so lost, feeling wasting my own potential. But whenever i used it to practice, i felt like that is a part of instinct, i can wield it whenever i want like riding a bike or something similar like that. But something else different, whenever i play a song, the barriers are much easier to move, they actually follow my will and not only protect me.

"I think the rule fit you a lot, people have different purposes when they have power, some use them for personal greed, some use them to find the truth about everything around them."

"And we're here to use our power to have fun and exploring this wonderful world. My power will protect everyone and it can protect this world too, every story need a villain to motivate the protagonist to act. Now the villain is here, now i will act."

I came to this world to help Lady Deora but i just can't ignore my own wish, there are so much more, so many things i wanted to do. I want to see this world, explore every corner of it, i want to see every scene, every festival, every rain when water and wind sing their song. Never to return to that colorless world or watch this world ruined. Helping this world is something i need to do so i don't really mind that.

"The crackling fire really calm my mind, i guess i like moments like these, I felt so relaxed, after everything new and exciting, i really need a moment like this to relax and reflect everything i did."

"You helped everyone, write few new songs, make friends, save a spirit trapped in its prison, have a goal in your life and for the first time, have hope. You archive more than anyone in such a short time, even those adults jealous at you, to reach this far."

"Appreciate that a lot my assistant, it's almost ten years right ? Almost ten years but i felt like i know you even before that, there is something sealed but i can't remember... I just think too much, you should get some rest, Sou. You work a lot today, you should go to sleep, i need more time to think."

Sou listens to me and goes to sleep, only me and the starry night tonight, silence starry night and sound of water splashing... water splashing, could it be one of them. Wandering to the place where i can hear the sound of water, a polar is sitting by the river bank, at least he has some of his own decency to put on clothing, i guess he finished the bathing section. But who is this mysterious polar bear and why he can endure this kind of heat, not really hot but when i read about polar bear all i know is the fact they can't live in warm atmosphere.

"Who's there, so you are one of those remain corrupted one."

"Wait, Higeki. It's me, Flour."

"Flour ? Well it's the true i never saw you under that armor suit but never think you truly look like this and even less shy than usual."

"About that, the helmet really make my voice like that. Other told me the helmet is too small for me but if it is this small i guess i should get a new one."

"But how could you survive this kind of atmosphere, i heard polar bear not really good with heat."

"Well, i am different i guess, my parents never told why but i think these kind of heat is normal. My family think it is normal too so we don't really mind it that much. Who know maybe we do get some help from some mysterious forces but for now, i just wanted to do my best to live."

"I think that's not a hard thing, everyone always tried their best to live to reach a brighter future. Everyone even me, i always tried my best in this new world, live to touch that bright future, the sun always watching over us afterall."

"The sun watching over us, maybe that's the truth, but is it great to receive such blessing the sun above us and maybe protecting us too. This is strange to a snowbear like me."

"Even when you don't like the sun, the gentle silver light of the moon is above us too, it is hard to get a night beautiful like this right ? The light of the moon with the gentle breeze... It's a little cold here."

"I thought you might need this."

A light curtain made out of water appear on my back like a robe, never know Tomoe's water magic can make something comfortable like this. Then i suddenly felt something above my head, Tomoe turned into his cute stuffed animal form and lying with his belly in my head, his hand rubbing my forehead.

"That felt really nice, guess what they say about the touch of a god is truth, this felt really relaxing. It really make me remember one of the instrument i used to use. Just a slight memory, i will create it when i have time. I remember every step but it took more time to make, much more time and precision than my current instrument."

"We will do everything we can to help you."

"After this war over, we should have something to celebrate, how about a night like this, under the moonlight and the autumm breeze, everyone even the king gather to see my performance with this new instrument. Sou's preparation is finished with the two first step the other step should be finished soon with the help of everyone."

"Everyone ?"

"They are finishing my instrument right now, with it i can truly feel i am one with the choir. I can truly join in with everyone, together we shall sing the song of freedom. Don't be like that, you two help me a lot, Tomoe, you soothe me whenever i felt i can't do anything. Flour, you help me on the battlefield today, when i was so vulnerable, i saw your blade blocking their attack, give me time to awaken everything i have. Without everyone i can't be here right now."

"I really have to say this but you really prove yourself to be a leader, you really show your own charisma and making people think they can trust you. But not just confident, i can sense something else in you, it make me happy."

"I think everyone felt like that when they just fell into a new world and i am even from a world where there is no color exist. When i stepped into this world, i felt like a child all over again but something i can't understand. How can rule slept inside me while Sou also have rule slept inside him."

"I don't know either but i felt the moment when you step in this world, something vibrated, the black box c***k and i can hear you. Maybe there is something you didn't remember, or something hidden from your mind, maybe this journey will help you more than just starting your life in another world."

Something hidden away inside my mind but what is it, something missing, children birth need parents... Who is my father ? Who is my mother ? Something hidden away, no matter how hard i tried i can't remember those simple thing. It's just like five years of my life vanish into the void, i never felt so lost, should i find the memory about them or should i just move forward and close it behind the door.

"Maybe this journey will help me more than just my new life, maybe i can find something here that help me with the past i can't remember."

When the moon hid itself behind the cloud and we decided that is enough for a night talk, we decided for a stroll under the moonlight but the truth we want to patrol around the forest, who know maybe they will strike when we are not careful. A stroll under the moonlight, maybe something will appear, who know that is friend or enemies but hearing the footsteps somehow scary and exciting at the same time.

"You hear that right ?"

"And i thought i was the only one."

"Show yourself Mr.Stranger, spying the other side during a war is a very risky thing to do. Show yourself in front of us and don't even try to ambush."

"Oh, i am so sorry, i just want to watch the person Lady choose, i mean no harm, but i guess everyone we saw before different from you a lot."

"Another agent of Lady Deora ? It seem like Edolin is a really large city, and i guess you are just here to see me and where is my manner, i am Higeki, this is Tomoe and my friendly guardian - Flour."

"I am Ikuni. The lord of the east area."

A golden shade appear in front of us, soon appear in front of us is a golden nine tail fox who look a little bit like a girl and almost like a boy, it confuse me a little bit but just proceed with the conversation like normal is good enough. 

"So there are more than just human in Edolin."

"Yes, Edolin accept everyone regarding races, Lady Deora doesn't care a lot about races as long as everyone accept harmony even there are still fighting but it isn't great conflict."

"Then i guess you already talked with Charle ?"

"Charle... That magician, no, he serves Aethelred, the lord of the West, each lord have their own business to take care of so we don't communicate a lot. But lady Deora do give us her command, we must assist you in this war and must ensure the side you choose is the side who stand."

"Other lord... It means there are four lords for each direction ?"

"Wonder why she is interested of you, you are not a simple child, in your mind, you know how what is happening and thinking about your next step. A lot like us. And don't make a mistake like other, i am a boy."

The fox child opens his umbrella and a golden mist appear, from within the mist is another fox but this one is just a normal nine tail white fox. But the one surprise is not me but Tomoe and that fox itself.

"Hisa."

"So you returned from no where, Chikyu and Moeru still remember you even when everyone else forgot about you. I guess they formed their pact with someone else, in order to look for you, i think you should find them too."

"Got that, we are a family after all."

"Well, time called, so much thing to do, Hisa is everything done, we must return."

"Yes, we will see each other again Tomoe, until that day came, please keep your contractor happy and take care of him."

"Always do that, i don't need you to remind me about something that basic."

"And don't be one-sided like that, we're taking care of each other, I think the night should end here Ikuni, a storm is coming from the horizon, my victory today is not the victory of a war but only a battle."

Ikuni rides on Hisa and disappear into the night while we continue our night strolling. People in Edolin are strange but they sound like a bunch of happy people who like to live the way they want. Really hope i can enter Edolin soon, at least when i finished with all of these mess first. But i believe, with all my friends and my allies, everything can be solved, believe in a beautiful and bright future.
