CHAPTER SEVEN

1077 Words
About 32 years ago, in the city of Flura, Staring at the view from outside the window, she could feel the breeze flowing through her long auburn  hair, which was one of the things she loved most about herself, and her blue eyes…..she always felt she was unique and that she had a mission she had to accomplish in life. Nora couldn’t help but wonder what the world out there entails. She was one of the daughters of Lord and Lady Maxwell. She is the second child and is the only odd one out of the four children; her siblings , Sofia and the twins, Georgina and Genevie. She was more into exploring, unlike her elder sister who was the prim and proper type and was always looking for ways she could make their father proud. She is the type that is responsible and is the type of daughter any father would be proud of. She was good at archery, knitting, and was also very smart and sharp. She was ready to make any sacrifices as long as it was for the good of the city and their kingdom. Though her other two sisters, the twins…. They were still quite young and hadn’t come of age yet. They were both sharp and also quite troublesome. They were also the light in their home. Everyone loved them, but they were also not the adventurous type…they didn’t care, all they wished for was to go to Saxia one day and finally meet their mate. And though she didn’t talk about it, that was what worried her the most. Nora doesn’t believe in letting the Sax choose her destined half, she couldn’t comprehend why a magic ball that shines would be the one to choose whom she would grow old with, which sometimes makes her angry at the blood that flows through her veins. She was of noble birth, and she had responsibilities, and more than that, she would go to Saxia in a few weeks and she would finally and supposedly come across her chosen mate, but she didn’t want that …and she couldn't also say that, it was like an abomination. It was the tradition that all noble births from all magical beings are present there, though the Gipsies don’t necessarily depend on the Sax to choose their mates, but there have been scenarios of cross-breeding of different species . Also, the trolls rarely come to such events, they are known to keep to themselves and depend mainly on themselves for reproduction due to their low fertility rate, but still how could she tell her parents that she doesn’t believe in having a mate or, more so, the Sax itself. She didn’t want that, she wanted to explore and see the world from a different angle. She was always cooped up in the castle and had absolutely nowhere to go…. Not that she didn’t have places to go, but her father, Lord Maxwell, had always been strict with their movements….he doesn’t let the girls out of the mansion except on strict supervision. “ Nora, mother says you should come downstairs for your measurement” yelled Georgina. This was enough to stop Nora’s thought….she immediately stood up and composed herself. She knew no matter how much she hated the idea of going to Saxia, her parents would never agree…and she didn’t want to disappoint them. With that, she immediately moved and quickly replied  “coming…”. In Diana’s subconscience, Diana couldn’t imagine what she was seeing, it was her….the person looked exactly like her but there were some slight differences, they had the same hair but their eyes… hers were pitch black….it looked like there wasn’t any sign of life in them and she was excluding a very strong , dangerous and ominous aura. She looked like a beautiful yet dangerous predator, with very long nails..she couldn’t help but shiver at the sight of how sharp they would be. She was wearing an almost translucent dress, a mixture of pink and blue in colour…it complemented her pale skin, and when she saw them, her wings…they were so big and beautiful…they had these beautiful symbols drawn on them, she could feel that they meant something , they looked almost invisible. She not only looked enthralling, she looked dangerous too …noticing she had just been staring at her for a long while and not saying anything, she then remembered that she didn’t know who this person and what was confusing was their uncanny resemblance . "Who are you?” asked Diana. But she didn’t answer, she just kept staring at her …like she could see through her very soul. She kept scanning every inch of her and Diana couldn’t help but feel intimidated and threatened by this …” I am you ” but that wasn’t the only strange thing that happened …she could hear her voice but she didn’t move her lips …..and Diana couldn’t help but feel puzzled more…..how was this thing her, they did have a very strong resemblance and she could remember well enough that she wasn't a twin and how in the hell did she speak to her without moving her lips …was she telepathic ?….what was she? “. We are one”. She did it again, she spoke without moving her lips …..seeing that something was definitely wrong…Diana couldn’t help but feel scared, she reflexively moved back, taking a step at once and this movement didn’t go unnoticed by her and it brought a smile to her lips…but the smile wasn’t soothing …it was a smile that screams danger. This scared Diana and she couldn’t help but feel worried more. She didn’t know what she was and it looked like that thing would surely kill her …she could feel that she was not capable enough to fight her . “ You are weak” , it did it again…..and she could feel the underlying distaste in those words, but Diana wasn’t ready to die just yet , so she turned around and ran . She just stared at her, wondering why she was running from her…..hearing her thoughts , she couldn’t help but chuckle …..she found it amusing, but then who was she, not give in to her primal instinct…it bad for a prey to run from a predator ..it adds to the thrill of the hunt ….that being said, she chased after her…. One of them had to survive this anyway.
