Ella’s POV My brain had slightly woken up, but It felt almost disconnected, like I was observing something important from afar. And I had no idea when I started sleeping. My head was aching slightly, and I could barely open my eyes… they felt stuck together as if someone had sealed them shut with glue while I slept. I looked around through half-closed eyes; I was struck by how gravely quiet everything was. The only sound came from the curtains, their soft fabric whispering as they danced back and forth in the cool breeze coming through the window.
