Garret “I told you not to let her bring these rags she calls clothes.” Mabel hissed quietly while they were walking to her car. “I told her, Mabel. She still packed it. She packed everything that we would throw away.” Garrett answered patiently as he put the box in the back of her car and lifted the clothes to show her ‘art supplies’. Tony was quiet, so unlike his usual loudmouthed self, and he glanced up to see his eyes looked haunted. “She treated all of that like treasure. The cash she was hiding couldn’t be more than twenty dollars.” He said in a tight voice. “Look at her ‘canvases’.” He snarled as he put the cut-up cardboard into the back.
