“Does this school ever end?” I muttered, skipping carefully down the valley, trying not to lose my balance on the uneven path.
Henry laughed from beside me. “It does feel endless. I thought the same when I first got here.”
We finally reached the riverbank, and Henry tugged off his shirt and dove into the water without hesitation. He surfaced with a grin and waved at me. “Come on, join me!”
I shook my head firmly. “No.”
Then I pointed toward Kai, who had been quiet the entire time, carrying most of the things Henry claimed we would need. “He can join you.”
Kai raised a brow. “Nope.”
I blinked at him. “Why not?”
