The tires screeched as Adam’s car barreled down the highway and the roar of Axel’s vehicles echoing in the distance behind him. The night air was thick with tension the distant headlights of his pursuers slicing through the darkness like knives. Beside him Jerek gripped the handle above the door his usually calm demeanor replaced with a steely focus. “They’re gaining on us” Jerek said his voice grim as he glanced in the side mirror.
