13 Safe Harbors Miranda I was standing in a half-familiar apartment, one with warm yellow walls and a mishmash of furniture that somehow managed to be charming in its eclectic clutter. Blinking, I put out a hand to touch one of those walls, just so I could reassure myself that I actually was there, that I hadn’t fooled myself into thinking a hallucination was reality.
