Historical novelists need to take some artistic license or tweak history to suit their stories, and I am no exception. The earl of Sussex during Richard III’s reign was Robert Radcliffe, not the Hugh Radcliffe of this story. It’s not known whether Donington-le-Heath manor house, Nottingham Castle, Worcester Castle, Rochester Castle, Windsor Castle, and Broughton Castle are on Ley Lines, but it would be an adventure to find out! The medieval manor house Donington-le-Heath indeed holds a bed, part of which may have belonged to King Richard III. The bed does not have a mattress, as described in the story, only ropes pulled taught across the frame, so I wouldn"t recommend that any would-be time-travelers try to sleep in it.
