Chapter 4

ᴀᴛʟᴀɴᴛᴀ, ɢᴇᴏʀɢɪᴀ

Talia

"Lia wake up, Lia wake up" I heard and felt somebody shaking me out my sleep. "I'm awake wats going on" I looked at Tamia. "It's Jaylee," she said with tears in her eyes. I hopped up running down the hallway to Tamia's room because that's where she slept last night.

I walked into the room and immediately ran over to the bed. Tears filled my eyes seeing my baby's body shake. I turned her on her side. "Tamia calls the ambulance and hurry," I said wiping my tears and rubbing Jaylee back. "It's ok baby mommy here mommy here," I said tryna remain calm.

Tamia walked into the room with my phone talking. She called the ambulance already so who could she be talking to. "Here Mar wanna talk to you," she said handing me my phone. I stayed calm as she put the phone to my ear. "Hello" I spoke letting off a shaky voice. "What's going on Lia why Tamia calling me crying at 2 am why it sounds like you crying," he asked as Tamia walked in with Paramedics.

"Is she breathing?" one asked walking over to her "yes," I said then looked back at my phone "Jaylee had and is having a seizer," I said wiping my eyes. "I'm on my way I'm finna call Twan right now," he said getting up as I heard stuff moving in the background and the phone hung up.

I locked my phone as they put Jaylee on the stretcher. "Tamia stay here until Mar gets here to pick you up to pack a bag for me and Jaylee please and don't forget her iPad and our chargers" I spoke following the paramedics out of the room and down the hallway.

My head filled with thoughts as we got into the ambulance. This never happened before not even down south. I wonder what caused this cause it didn't come out of no where.

"Mommy" Jaylee woke up crying I scooted closer to the paramedics as they checked her. "Its ok baby I'm right here," I said rubbing her shoulder.

We arrived at the hospital and I sat in the waiting room as they took her to the back. Everybody started walking in and Mar walked over to me picking me up and taking my seat then placed me in his lap and rubbed my back causing me to fall asleep.

I woke up and realized I wasn't in the same room anymore I was now laying in the bed beside Jaylee as she slept on my arm. I felt my phone buzz and picked it up looking at the posts from i********:.

After making my post I locked my phone and looked at Mar enter the room with a juicy crab bag. I got happy because I was hungry. I sat up as he sat the bag on the bed. I fixed my pajama pants and looked around. "Where Tamia," I said looking up at him as he stared down at me.

"Twan took her home he there with her tho they gonna be back up here she just needed to sleep," he said causing me to nod and pull out the bags and the two bowls and handed him one or each.

I placed my food and the bowl on the lil table and pulled it closer. I opened the bag and took out a piece of shrimp. I pulled the tail off and began going in on my food. I was so into my food I didn't hear the door open.

"Hey I'm Dr. Carter and I'm here to talk to you about plans on this situation and how to prevent them," she said causing me to nod. I closed up my food and used a couple of napkins to clean my hands and face.

"Ok so we know this is the first one and it seems she had an allergic reaction to something her arms had gotten a rash but I never saw anybody have a seizure from an allergic reaction, is she allergic to anything?" She asked

"Yes she has a peanut allergy and she also is allergic to cats," I said thinking then looked over at Mar who had headphones in. I got up and tapped him, he took off the headphones looking from me to Dr. Carter.

"Wassup," he asked looking confused. "Did Jaylee eat anything with peanuts or was she around cats when she was with you?" I asked and he started thinking. "Yea she ate a chocolate and peanut butter brownie but I ain't the one that gave it to her Orion did" I started thinking cause that's not my first time seeing Orion I saw him down South a couple of times just don't know with who.

"Well, I'm gonna give you guys an EpiPen and also some pills. In shes not gonna be able to swallow the pill so you can crush it up and put it in applesauce." She said and I nodded still thinking of who I saw him with.

This wasn't an accident either

The doctor walked out and I looked at Mar. "I don't want him around this ain't my first time seeing him I saw him down South when I was there I'm just tryna think of who he was with," I said while thinking and looking at Jaylee.

It was now 2 pm and Jaylee has just woken up she immediately started crying so I picked her up but she reached for Mar. Damn my baby doesn't like me anymore. He got up and grabbed her from me and she laid her head on him as he continued his conversation with Twan and I looked at my phone.

I went to i********: and started going through everybody's account that was around me down south. Once I got to

Jayquan page and began scrolling.

"I found out were," I said looking down at my phone. Mar got up and looked at my phone.

"Damn he an opp and so is that nigga he with," Mar said and I scrunched my face up. "Damn Jaylee he said yo daddy an opp," I said and Twan head snapped my way. "I should have figured this s**t out when you said Jayquan was her daddy and him from down south. Yea that nigga wavy an opp" Twan said rubbing his head.

"He can't even shoot a gun how the hell he an opp," I asked scrunching up my face and they started laughing. "Y'all laughing but I'm serious as hell we were at the gas station and one of his opps walked out the store or w.e and he upped at him and shot the ground, how that work," I said getting up.

"And niggas down south really scared of him," Twan said shaking his head. "He never carried a gun on him for real it's always one in his car tho, I gotta go down there Friday cause it's his momma birthday and she wanna see Jaylee," I said scratching my head.

"Gone head and give us the details bout his moma we know some s**t happened," Mar said unlocking his phone. "His momma ain't like me when she first met me. She would mugg me every time I was around, tried to pick with me and all" I said sighing.

"Then the next year she saw that I wasn't going anywhere cause her son 'loved' me or whatever. But his momma really money hungry she like expensive s**t so when Jayquan wasn't supplying her with money and wasn't showering her with gifts she turned to her other son who is a doctor and her daughter who is a lawyer and she cut him off until I had Jaylee then she came around" I said rolling my eyes.

"Damn she sound like a whole ass b***h but you ain't going down there by yourself," Mar said looking up at me. "I was gonna ask y'all anyways," I said shrugging. "But Orion finna get offed on my mom," Twan said standing up. "They need to hurry up with these release forms I'm tired of being here," I said getting out the bed and stretching.

"On God they do," Twan said and on cue, a nurse walked in with the papers. I sat back on the bed and began sighing them. Once I was finished I gathered all our stuff and followed Mar out of the room as he carried Jaylee.

We walked out into the parking lot and headed to Mar car. He put Jaylee in the backseat and I got into the passenger seat. I pulled out my phone and looked at all the messages from Jayquan that I had been ignoring for the whole day. He doesn't care about Jaylee until something happens.

I looked at his messages and locked my phone. "This nigga lost his mind thinking he gonna come at me crazy hell" I mumbled rolling my eyes. Mar looked at me and scrunched up his face. "Hell wrong with you he asked stopping at a red light. I shook my head and looked back at Jaylee as she played on her iPad.

I turned back around and was fav to face with Mar. "You know I want you back right," he asked looking back at the road and pulled off from the light. I sat there looking at him still. "I mean we ain't end on no bad note so it ain't nun wrong with that" he added while stopping at a stop sign.

I nodded my head taking everything in. "Yea I'll take that as a question and say yes since you don't know how to ask people out," I said making him chuckle. "Ight now stop playing but for real you my girlfriend and I am yo boyfriend ain't no games to it," he said taking a glance at me then pulled into my apartment subdivision.

He pulled up beside my car and cut his car off. We got out and he grabbed Jaylee while I grabbed my duffle. We walked to the door and I unlocked it using my key. We walked in and headed straight for my room. "Leelee you hungry," I asked as she sat on my bed tapping on her iPad.

She nodded standing up and walked towards me. I picked her up and grabbed my phone. Mar had got into the shower so I decided to order everybody some wing stop.
