Chapter 3

906 Words
Barbara could barely remember what had happened. Perhaps she was too drunk to notice, or maybe she was just lonely and longed for someone to fill the emptiness in her heart. Before she knew it, she found herself being kissed by the stranger she had met at the club. His kisses were nothing like Luke’s—they were intense, almost ravenous, and entirely new to her. Yet to her surprise, she found herself enjoying it. "Ohhh, goodness..." she moaned softly as she felt his warm tongue against her wet core. The sound of his kisses and gentle nips against her skin filled the room. Even with the air conditioning blowing cool air through the space, it could not ease the heat building up inside her. Moments later, she felt something firm press against her pússy. With one strong movement, the stranger entered her. She could not help but gasp. She was no longer innocent—Luke had been her first—but the stranger was well-endowed, and she felt completely filled. "Damn... You feel so good," he whispered huskily in her ear as he began to move. His voice, his warm breath... it was all overwhelming, and only made her want more. "Faster... please," she begged. "Turn around, baby..." She obeyed without hesitation. He gave her a firm caress before he began to move steadily. She did not know where to hold on; the pleasure was more than she had ever known. She had never realized she could be so vocal. She cried out, lost in the feeling he gave her. With one final push, he reached his peak, and she followed, overcome with sensation. She fell back against the bed, breathless. Slowly, her eyes closed, and she was too exhausted to ever see the face of the man she had been with... Barbara woke the next morning with a splitting headache. She slowly opened her eyes, only to be greeted by an unfamiliar ceiling. Her brows furrowed. This wasn't her apartment. Where was she? What had happened? She stayed frozen for several seconds, trying to piece together the events of the previous night. Then it all came rushing back… The club. The drinks. The stranger... "Oh my God..." She sat upright so abruptly that the blanket slipped from her body. Her breath caught. She wasn't wearing anything. What have I done? Her thoughts were in complete chaos when the sound of someone clearing his throat echoed through the room. Barbara quickly turned toward the source of the sound. A man sat calmly in a single armchair across the room, watching her. For a brief moment, she simply stared at him. Then recognition struck like lightning. Nathaniel Stavros! Luke's uncle. Her ex-husband's uncle! She had spent the night with Nathaniel Stavros! The color drained from her face. She couldn't move. Couldn't even properly breathe. Nathaniel rose gracefully from his seat and walked toward her. Barbara instinctively clutched the blanket tighter around herself. "It seems you've finally recognized me," he said in his deep, composed voice. She swallowed hard. "I... I'm sorry." She lowered her eyes in embarrassment. "This shouldn't have happened. I was drunk last night. I didn't know it was you." She had only met Nathaniel once before. He rarely attended family gatherings, spending most of his time running Stavros Logistics Corporation. Luke himself hardly ever spoke about his powerful uncle. Nathaniel remained completely unfazed. "What happened last night was consensual," he said evenly. "We're both adults. And neither of us was forced." Barbara nodded awkwardly. He was right. There was no point dwelling on what couldn't be changed. "I—I should get dressed and leave." She climbed out of bed and began searching for her clothes. Only to freeze. Her blouse... And even her undergarments... Were beyond saving. Slowly, she turned toward Nathaniel. He met her gaze without the slightest hint of embarrassment. "My apologies," he said calmly. “I may have been... a little rough." Barbara pressed her lips together. "So... how exactly am I supposed to leave wearing these?" "I've already asked my personal assistant to bring you a new set of clothes." As soon as he finished speaking, there was a knock on the door. "Come in." A young man wearing thick-rimmed glasses entered with a luxury shopping bag in hand. "I brought everything you requested, Master Nate." "Leave it on the bed." The assistant did as instructed before quietly leaving the room. Silence settled between them once again. After a moment, Nathaniel spoke. "Get dressed. I'll be waiting downstairs. We have something important to discuss." Without another word, he walked out. The moment the door closed, Barbara hurried into the fresh clothes. She didn't even bother taking a shower. All she wanted was to go home before Rhea started worrying. A few minutes later, she made her way downstairs. The assistant greeted her politely. "Good morning, Miss Barbara. Master Nate is waiting for you in the dining room." Barbara blinked in surprise. She certainly hadn't expected breakfast to be part of a one-night stand. "No, thank you," she replied politely. Please tell your boss I really need to leave." She was about to walk past him when a calm, commanding voice stopped her in her tracks. "You're not going anywhere, Barbara." She slowly turned around. Nathaniel stood at the entrance of the dining room, his sharp eyes fixed on her. "Come back. We need to discuss our wedding...”
