Edmund was stunned. He turned to look at Adeline beside him.
"I'll raise you. You don't need a job." Edmund said.
Adeline knew he'd say that. Especially for a man like him, he wouldn't be willing for his woman to do this. However, this was what Adeline must do.
Adeline then said with a softer voice: "It's not the same! I've wasted three years with Fred doing nothing! I want to know more about the outside world, even if it's...it's for you."
"For me?" Edmund narrowed his eyes.
"Yes, for you. If I can get a job, maybe we could have more topics to talk about, and I'll share some of your worries" Adeline said.
Edmund smiled, "Little fox, when did you become so eloquent?"
Although he knew that it was just an excuse, he was still very pleased.
