The taxi ride back had been a blur of streetlights and laughter, and now he didn’t think he could go to bed just yet. He snuffled with amusement when Dex walked him immediately up to a wall and attacked his neck with his mouth, not even caring that Izzy and Natali were both behind them, stumbling and toeing off their shoes. Nick batted at him and caught his gaze. “Let’s go for a walk.” That seemed to sober Dex, who pulled back and said, “What, now?” Nick nodded. “I’m hot. Fresh air?” “It’s a bit late, babe.” Nick wondered why that bothered Dex, and then it came flooding back to him. How could he have forgotten? It felt like that night had been a million years ago, but maybe only to him. He swallowed. “Right. What if we opened your window?” Dex led him upstairs. The mood had shifted. N
