The distance back to the pack house feels like an eternity. I want to rush but she is so weak that she is barely holding on. I cant get anyone to bring a vehicle as the trees are too dense to get through and to take her by road would take twice as long. 4 warriors try to meet me with a stretcher but I can't bring myself to put her on it. I want to keep her close and warm.
Only I know that I will be the gentlest with her, after all she is my entire world, no one could care for her as much as I care for her. The journey has taken over 45 minutes yet her condition has not got any better. If anything she is slowly deteriorating. I can barely hear her heart.
