Crescent moon pack
A bright chandelier hung low, shining on the people filling the ballroom, which was decorated with pictures and paintings.
However, Zara's picture was visibly larger than others.
Packed with vibrant individuals, who had gathered to witness the celebration of Damian's celebration as the new Alpha.
Just as he liked.
A proud smile spread across his face as he observed the guest, wining and dining in his honor; his face was proud. However, something was missing.
“It's all set. She would be serving the guest as instructed,” s guard whispered in his ear where he sat enjoying his meal, he nodded, then turned to Kael.
“Everything appears to be going fine.” Kael raised a glass and examined it.
“However, remember you aren't completely an Alpha without a Luna,” Kael told him, gulping down an alcohol that burnt his chest, making a satisfactory grunt.
“I am working on it,” Damian replied coldly, knowing well that Kael has no effect on him.
“You shouldn't be working on it. You have lots of concubines who satisfy you; however, none of them will ever be the Luna, even if they're your destined mate”! Kael gulped another drink before gesturing to his daughter, who was desperately waving at Damian.
Damian stared at Kael's daughter, Mace, her smile very elaborate and seductive; however, his attention was pulled to the younger lady serving—Tiana, Zara's younger sister.
Damian's eyes were fixated on Tiana, who wore a short skirt with clothes that revealed half of her cleavage, much as the servers.
Tiana had become a servant in her own pack since her sister left, and Damian had made sure he used her the way he liked just to get the answers he wanted about the “treasure.”
As if she could sense his gaze, Tiana lifted her head and met Damian's gaze. Her eyes burned with fury while she poured a drink for an older-looking man who immediately groped her ass.
Her body tensed, but she didn’t push him away. She couldn’t. It was an unspoken rule—servants existed for the pleasure of the guests.
With a satisfactory grin, Damian stood with his glass in his hands as he tapped lightly on it.
“May I have your attention?” He began, putting down the cup.
“Good. As you all know, I am the new Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack who just lost his wife weeks back.” He paused his expression solemnly. “I am honored and thankful for all the support in gathering here to mourn her soul.”
Paparazzi began flashing their bright cameras on his face, asking a series of questions, but he remained still.
“How do you feel being the new Alpha?” One asked.
“What did you say happened to your late fiancé? Are you sure she committed suicide?”
“Was it because of her rank—omega—that you overthrew her and became the Alpha?”
The crowds let out a collective gasp. However, Damian remained calm, he let out a little chuckle.
“I loved my fiancé very much even as an omega. However, I tried stopping her, but…” He paused, pretending to wipe a strand of tears from his eyes, and sniffed his nose. “I couldn't save her.”
A woman with a stern look then asked, “Sir, there's a rumor circulating that you have a hand in Zara's death. Care to leave a comment on it?”
The room fell into total silence as they all stared at Damian. He had heard of the rumors and had come prepared.
“Zara's death was a devastating blow to me, and to suggest that I had a hand in it is not only false but hurtful. I hope you can understand the pain and grief I'm still processing,” he replied.
“That's a shame!”
A woman's voice then cut through the sad atmosphere, making the paparazzi shift to her.
They were all stunned to see the lady sitting elegantly with her legs crossed, swirling her wine in her hands.
“Who's she?”
Murmurs erupted, then followed by a chaotic gasp.
“She's a ghost!”
“it can't be... It's Zara Callister!” Another yelled.
Whispers turned into shouts, cameras flashing widely as all eyes locked on the woman.
Damian’s face tightened; he felt all his blood run cold, and his heartbeat raced in his chest, slamming in guilt.
“please” he tried calming the commotion. “Let her speak. Can you reveal yourself?” Damian stood tall, looking over the woman with a frightening-looking pang all over him. His voice is low but dangerous.
The mysterious lady let out a chuckle and then raised her head to reveal herself.
Damian's eyes widened in disbelief, horror washing over him as he stared at the replica of Zara.
“My name is Raz,” the woman said smoothly, locking eyes with him. “Zara’s twin sister.”
The room erupted into another round of chaos. Paparazzi rushed forward, capturing every passing spectacle.
She enjoyed the shock and fear in him. She loved how petrified he looked, and she vowed to keep it that way until he crumbled to nothing.
“That's impossible!!” Kael yelled from the crowds. “Zara had no twin sister. Only Tiana. And if she did have it, my brother, the former Alpha, would have informed me.”
However, Zara had prepared for this, a small smile tugged on her face, and she wiped her hair and said, “An alpha who kept the secret of his daughter being a wolf-less Omega would then tell you about his other daughter?” She scoffed, then put down her drink. “Of course my father hid me for my protection”
Murmurs erupted again, agreeing to what she said. A satisfactory grin laced her face. Although some looked skeptical at the same time.
Damian was still in doubt, struggling to accept the truth “I know Zara very well, and if she had a sister, She would have confused me” he insisted, “Zara had been straightforward with me, so I believe you're an imposter.”
The atmosphere tensed, and everyone turned to the imposter, but she remained calm. Carefully calculating her answers in order not to reveal too much.
“Alpha Callister and his wife introduced you to Zara for marriage purposes because they knew she wouldn't be able to rule the pack without a husband.” Zara closed her eyes momentarily, before snapping it open.
“Zara was fiercely determined to rule, but something tragic happened that night, and she died.” Zara pauses, allowing the weight of her words to settle in the room.
“What is your point?”
“I am here to investigate if Zara actually died…” she stopped, “or was she killed that night.” she gazed furiously at Damian.
“You were with her that night; only you know what happened to her.”
“Are you suggesting the Alpha killed his own wife?” Kael spoke up, and she turned to him. “That's outrageous!”
She smirked. “Uncle Kael, I never insinuated that. But you also should have known the kind of niece Zara was.”
“Your points make no sense. I ask you to leave before things get ugly,” Kael threatened.
“I wouldn't advise that if I were you.”
In a surprising move, Damian stepped down to Zara, pulling her in an embrace, to everyone’s shock.
A strand of tears fell from his eyes. “I am so happy to have you here,” Damian said empathetically.
“I know I should have intervened, but I couldn't.” He paused, then continued, “Since you're here, I want to make it up to you,” he continued, putting up a believable act.
Zara pulled from the embrace and stared at him with disgust, as if she could read his thoughts, she said. “I actually have one request.”
Damian raised his head, determined to do whatever she asked.
“Step down.” She said, cameras went wild, capturing the moment again.
“What?”
“You heard me. Relinquish your position as the Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack.”
