Axton Valtor's fangs dug deep into Zara's neck, blood seeping out of it while her screams hung in the room.
She attempted to push him off her, but his hands gripped hers round her back, trapping her.
“You're hurting me,” she let out softly as Axton began licking the blood from where he bit.
His tongue sent shivers down her spine, making all her hair stand on end and arousing her.
“Stop this madness,” she retorted, but Axton gave her no ears.
He pulled back, stared at her eyes with his dark and emotionless ones.
The tendrils had spread across his face, making their way to his eyes.
He no longer looked human but a demon amongst the shadows.
“I can still smell him,” Axton growled, more like his wolf was trying to take over.
“Who? What are you talking about?” Zara wriggled some more, with a hint of courage.
“Damian. Why did you go to him?” His voice carried with a cold echo, making Zara swallow hard.
“I told you, I went to see my sister…” But before she could finish, Axton lifted her , like she weighed nothing, and slammed her in the bed and then got on top of her.
“I warned you. You went against my warning; now you have to pay for it,” he said in a gruff and rough voice.
“He is out of his mind,” Zara mentally stated as she tried to see her escape, which was almost impossible, as Axton's weight pressed against hers.
Axton pulled off his robe, revealing his bare chest tattooed with a unique symbol that resonates with Zara, but she couldn't remember where she saw it.
The marks were like ancient writing, the words unreadable but daring to hold great meaning.
She lifted her eyes to Him; fear enveloped her seeing the man on her.
His eyes were already sunken in, his fangs elongated, and his breathing became heavier every passing minute.
“This is bad. What is he trying to do to me?” Zara thought. “He's losing control.”
Axton felt himself being dismembered by his wolf; he had tried to take control, however, his wolf was stronger, coupled with his shadow sickness.
He knew the consequences of the two combining, but he had no way of stopping it.
Axton leaned in and began kissing her cheeks, making sure he got every taste of her.
She tasted vanilla ice cream, and her scent engulfed his nostrils, driving him insane.
Zara blushed under him, biting her lips to hold in any sounds from escaping her lips.
“Stop it…” she whispered with a hitched voice, even though she enjoyed it.
“Why should I?” Axton breathed in her ear.“This is your side of the bargain, no?”
“What bargain? I told you I forgot everything; why are you still doing this?” She said breathlessly, wriggling her hands from his strong hold.
Axton held her hands over her head with his right hand; his other free hand crawled to her clothes, zipping and unbuttoning.
“I'll help you remember,” he paused, “but first, I want the smell of that bastard to be off you.” He leaned in and took her lips with his, kissing and exploring hers with his tongue.
Zara had been a virgin, even when she was engaged to Damian. They never did anything aside from hugs, strictly monitored by her parents.
Axton was her first kiss, and now, they were talking about s*x.
Her heart slammed in her chest, sweat pouring from her face.
Axton’s grip on her tightened, his body radiating heat, rage, and something more dangerous…need.
His fingers traced to Zara's thighs while still holding her hands pinned to the edge above her head.
Soft moans escaped her lips, even as she bit them tight. She hated the effects he had on her.
“You're only mine, Zara. You owe me this,” he moaned, his lips against her neck.Zara's body tensed up, stiff like a log of wood.
“I told you, we made a deal. Yet you failed on your end….” Before he could finish, Zara snapped at him.
“I don't remember any bargain. Why is that so hard for you to understand?” She yelled partially. Regretting her mistakes as soon as Axton tore open her underwear.
Leaving her barely naked, she gasps, humiliation washing over her.
His hands slipped into her c******s, his thumbs rubbing gently while staring at her.
His shadow sickness seemed to be worsening, making him more frustrated at why he wasn't getting cured as told.
“Why are you doing this?” Zara, he managed to let out, grabbing his attention.
A scowl formed in his brows. “Did you already forget what happened on your birthday?” He raised a question. “I'm sure you haven't forgotten that far”
Zara froze for a moment; she couldn't remember anything that happened except the tragedy that led to her death.
Her silence convinced Axton that she couldn't remember. He removed his hands from her lower half, then caressed her face.
“How can you forget the first kiss you had on your birthday?” He said, breathing heavily like a predator.
Zara tried to understand what he was saying; she did remember her first kiss was from a stranger she met hours before the disaster; however, it wasn't something she was planning to keep memory of.
“What does that have to do with you?” She blurted it out. “And how did you know about that?”
Axton smiled darkly, his gaze hardened. “I watched you. Every aspect of your life, I Know. Even when I saw you with him,I couldn't take it anymore.” He paused, his expression solemn: “I hated seeing him flung around you. I wanted to squash him like a bug….” He stopped mid-sentence.
His expression darkened and grew cold. “You're mine, Zara. Not his, not anyone else's,” his growl filled the dark room, echoing in Zara's body like a vibrator.
“I was there…” he paused, letting what he said sink in for her. “I came to your birthday party in hope you will finally recognize your mate. However, you were too clouded with that bastard.” His abrupt stop sent Zara into a wide range of thoughts.Suddenly replaying everything that happened on her birthday, the disaster, the death, and the mysterious man that saved her that night.
How could she have forgotten everything? But the question remains: How did Axton know all these? And how long has he been stalking her? She mustered up to speak.
“You caused havoc on my birthday,” she stated furiously. “You and your people ruined my life!” She half yelled; a tear lingered in her eyes.“I knew I had seen you but never knew that you were the major cause of my life. And now you're here claiming to save me and some bargain…” She paused, her pupils widened.
“You, Axton, did nothing but destroy my life, and the reason I lost my Luna position.”
Axton's breath intensified, sharp and hollow as he tried to defend himself, “You're getting it wrong, Zara. I merely came on request.”
“You expect me to believe that?” She said sharply.
Axton's gaze blurred as he stared down at Zara, her words sounding like an echo in a tunnel. The world, spinning around him whilst he shakes his head.
Zara noticed his disagreement; worry filled her, driving her to ask, “Are you okay?” She asked. “There’s a misconception, Zara; it was…” His breathing grew heavier as he slumped on her.
“It was a setup,” he whispered before passing out.
