It’s 12:29 and yet Rachel hasn’t arrived.
I can’t believe that I’ll be stuck by her side for the next 7 days.
Actually, it won’t be as bad as she’ll be with her fiancé and you’ll be free to enjoy yourself.
Let’s hope that’s the case.
I was waiting for her in the lobby.
I had decided to shower and dress quickly in a vain attempt to impress her, so I could get the rest of the day off.
I wore a floral blue sundress to match my mood with light blue heels and nude makeup. I let my brown waved loose and completed my look with a pair of white studs.
“Hey, you already here?” Rachel startled me by coming out of nowhere.
“Yeah, I just arrived,”
Rule no.1- To stay in boss’ good books, never tell them they aren’t punctual. To be precise, she was 15 minutes late.
“Cool, so let’s hurry. We are running late,” she said and started walking.
It was now that I noticed that she was wearing a tight fitted wine colored dress that showed excess of her cleavage and curves.
How did she even zip that dress up? Mini-me asked.
I don’t know. I replied with similar confusion.
“You aren’t coming, darling?” she asked when she noticed I wasn’t following her.
“Just behind you”
“Better be quick”
There was the same limousine waiting for us. The ride to our destination was unusually silent. I wondered what her concern was, as she usually isn’t a silent person.
Her sudden comeback pulled me out of my trance,
“Ivy, I hope you to be at your best there. No unnecessary comments or in fact no words at all, if possible. I'm telling you this because this is your first time as my assistant, so you better remember.”
“Yes, Rachel I’ll keep that in mind”
“And also, say ma’am”
Woooah…
“Yes’ MA’AM,” I said emphasizing the word.
When we reached our destination, we were welcomed by Mr. Walter’s secretary.
“Hello and welcome, you must be Mr. Walter’s guests,” he said with a polite smile that somehow felt genuine.
“Yes, we surely are,” Rachel responded curtly.
“Please this way ma’am,” he said and lead the way.
We followed him. I was mesmerized by the view of the restaurant. It had beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The wall had beautiful paintings which could make anyone drool over them. Some paintings had beautiful scenic nature at display while some had the aura of positivity reflecting. To say I was mesmerized would be an understatement. From flooring to the wallpapers, everything was just perfect. The colour selection, the furniture arrangement even the flower arrangements had me mesmerized.
We were in the lobby was the last thing I remembered cause the next minute I realized that I was lost. There was no one around me. I started walking in the direction I came from in hope of finding someone.
I was still awed by my surroundings when suddenly I was hit hard by something on my forehead. I lost my balance.
Bloody heels! I cursed internally.
I closed my eyes in fear of hurting myself, but I never touched the floor. I realized someone was holding me. I slowly opened my eyes only to be dazed by the same pair of ocean blue eyes staring at me.
Yeah, how can I ever forget these eyes? They belonged to the person who was my sole reason for survival till date. The same pair of those breathtaking blue orbs, which had me enchanted only by their presence!
This can’t be true. I am dreaming. Please, tell me mini-me I’m dreaming.
I so do hope that this is a dream, because this can’t be true.
I closed my eyes again and bit my cheek internally in an attempt to wake up from this trauma, but I was only shaken fiercely by the person holding me.
“Excuse me,” he started.
I slowly opened my eyes, only to realize that it was not a dream. He was really standing in front of me.
Tears started beaming in my eyes.
“Are you ok?” he asked, concern filled in his voice.
“Rihaan,” was all I managed to say.
“What?” he seemed confused. Didn’t he recognize me? Had he forgotten everything?
He released his hold of me. His expression seemed to be a cold one. In short no expressions, no emotion, nothing.
