Chapter 10

804 Words
Rachel left for New York. Yes, this is what Rihaan said. How can she? How can she leave me in a foreign country all alone? She even switched her mobile off and won’t answer my voicemails… Cherry on the top- I have to assist Rihaan for the upcoming fashion show. I mean whyyyy??? Where’s his assistant? It’s so irritating. I want to avoid him by any means; on the contrary fate is playing games with me. Can life get any better… I mean what the fuckkkk!!! Where’s his assistant? Why me? It’s useless brooding over that. I have to concentrate on my work. Possibly he may remember something. I hope so. I don’t want to deal with his playfulness. Ughhh… It’s 8 in the morning and I’m expected to report at 9 sharp, so I do have time for a stress-free breakfast. I had settled for off-shoulder white colored dress with ankle length brown boots. The dress perfectly vindicated my well toned skin. *Ivy’s outfit I reached the office by 8:45, successfully rewarding myself with a headache. Stop sulking the whole day!  My mind snarled at me. I’m not sulking.  I snapped. You are! Stop over-reacting over everything. You’re just becoming a complain box day by day. I stopped in my track at this statement. Complain box, seriously? Do me a favor and get lost for rest of the day, I retort.  Thankfully the dissenter had gone. I decided to get myself a quick coffee from the company pantry. Yea, that’s a small self-serve room with snacks and tasty refreshments.  The company does take care of it employees. While making myself a coffee, I start processing my thoughts and formulated an action-plan to deal with Rihaan or Richard, whatever. One. Talk only about work. Two. Stick to small talk. Three. Stop ogling at him Four. No physical contact, even for a second. Five. Keep yourself busy and away from him as much as possible. I guess it’s enough for now. My coffee’s prepared. I grab it and start walking towards my table checking my phone for any notifications. “Ivy!” I heard someone say my name. I looked up in search of the source. It was none other than Mr. Bossy-yet-sexy himself. “Yes, sir?” “Thanks for the coffee,” he said snatching the cup from my hand. My jaw touched the ground. That was my coffee… “That was mine,” I retorted. “Now it’s mine,” he said shrugging his shoulders as if stating a fact and sipped it. I decided to choose the wiser route and shut my mouth. He started walking, clue for me to follow. “Are the invitations sent?” he asked. “Yes, sir” “The contract papers for the Windshine collaboration verified?” “I’ll verify with the HR department.” “The costume trial triumphant?” “Yes, sir. Practices will commence today.” “Make sure every model attends it.” “Yes, sir” He was walking too fast and making it hard for me to follow with all the yorkers he threw non-stop. “Trish will assist you for the rest of the work. He’s been informed. Make sure that the arrangements are completed on time.” Before I could reply he abruptly stopped in his path and turned to face me, which caused us to bump into each other. My forehead hit his chest pretty hard. Thankfully his hand wasn’t in front; successfully avoiding the coffee spill. Status- Rule no.4 broken!  My mind said jumping excitedly. “Ouch!” I blurted out rubbing my forehead. “Clumsy as ever!” “Chivalry is actually extinct,” I whisper-said but, enough loud for him to hear. “Quit worrying about the world and focus on your work Ms. Makrow” I tried to come up with something witty but couldn’t process. After a few more instructions, I was allowed to descend. I headed to the main arena where the ramp practices were held, to verify whether everything was under control or not. “Ma’am, Bianca couldn’t make it today,” Trish said updating me with everything. “She is supposed to be the show-stopper, right?” “Yes, ma’am” “Did you find out the reason?” “She said that she isn’t in her best health and would show up tomorrow.” “Hmm… Leave that for now. Who’ll be filling her spot right now?” “Umm…” he hesitated.
